  1. Best things about fishing for me.....a beginner bass fishing enthusiast trying to learn new stuff. Learning something new and getting results. Recently watched a video on fishing topwater spooks. Went out and got a couple and worked on getting the action down for awhile. Last week caught a nice 3.5 lb'er that just killed it. Was such a rush. Up north here 3.5 lb'er is a decent fish..not huge but good. My wife thought it was a monster but there are lots bigger. The next best thing will be to see her catch something decent. She gives me all the time in the world to fish without grief so I am a lucky man. Hardest part is having the patience to stick with something new till you get some results. If you never catch anything then it is hard to gain that confidence to use it when the time is right.
  2. Hate to say it but a selfie stick helps get a better fish picture. Good catch by the way.
  3. I am going in a friendly derby with some buddies but have never fished the lake. Any suggestions or places I should avoid due to hazards would be appreciated. Thanks
  4. I have a new lowrance Chartplotter/GPS/Sonar and i am able to create my own maps by logging my sonar. Really shed some light on what is under the water that we never see. Humps/Shelves/Edges that can hold fish. If your lake is not too big or you fish regular spots it can be a great tool. Its called insight genesis.
  5. This is actually my first post/response ever. I don't care for the unboxings either. But as far as some of the videos go...some good/some bad. I think that newcomers to bass fishing that want to get better and learn more...like me learn more by watching videos. My dad loved to fish trout but we never went bass fishing so where do I learn? From guys like Glen. He has helped me immensely so far and I am thankful for that and anyone else willing to help. Glen is one of my favorites. He makes lots of sense and passes on info in a way I can understand. And guess what..he gets to do something he loves for a living. There is always a downside to everything and that would be pushing sponsor's products. So don't watch those videos or ignore those parts. There is no such thing as pride when trying to feed your family. You do what you need to so your family is successful. Doesn't affect me at all so no reason to get bent about it.
