I lost the sleeve to my hitch. Not too many companies make a 2 1/2 inch receiver drop hitch. Did some research, and this bad boy arrived today. It's over built. Machined aluminum. The tongue weight gauge is a nice bonus. Probably the last drop hitch I buy.
That's a good point. However, I'm currently working to finish a couple projects that require me to be here. So wait three weeks to pick it up or have the boat here, looked over, and ready to go in the same amount of time. Not a difficult choice.
Finding a shipper has proven to be difficult. Any of you work with someone that you could recommend? Boat is new, on a trailer, and will be shrink wrapped.
Spoke to a rep at Mercury Racing regarding break in procedure and a propeller. They were very helpful. Based on the hull and the motor the suggestion was the 26.5, so I'm going to start there and see how it runs. Right now I'm still trying to figure out getting the boat to CA. Hopefully it will be on a truck in the next couple days out to me.
I won't be able to pick up the boat until sometime next week. It's going to the dealership to make sure all is in order. Realistically I won't be able to get it out on the water for a couple weeks. I have a busy work schedule for the next several days.
After a break in on our big lake then a trip to 'Lake X" will be first stop. I've not been there in several years, even thought I've been paying my membership dues for the last 5 without a single visit. Looking forward to getting back on the water!
This will probably be my last bass boat for a long time. Now that Ranger has been bought out and the fact that they don't make this model anymore, I'm thinking the build quality will probably suffer.
This makes new boat #3. The peace of mind is worth the added cost to me. I don't have much free time so when I do have the time to fish I expect my equipment to work. It does.
