  1. If these were sold in the states, they'd make a mint. https://tacklecentral.wordpress.com/2013/01/21/japanese-style-bass-boat/
  2. Well, took a drive out to the dealer today. She's just about ready to be picked up from all of the work that was done. Still waiting on a lower cowling that's on back order, and looks like DMV has finally sorted out the paperwork. Apparently, buying a boat from a dealer in LA and registering in CA can be a little time consuming. All in all, I'll be picking up the boat in a couple weeks. Just the same, I've been so busy that it just would have sat in my barn for this time anyway. Looking forward to filling her up with tackle and going out on the maiden fishing trip!
  3. This could become thread of the year.
  4. Bought three new mustang elites for the boat. No skimping on pfd's.
  5. lol. Whopperito.
  6. I'd venture to guess it's the prop as well.
  7. The guy that drove through that other boat's wake at that speed was asking for trouble. Why individuals get themselves in situations like that is beyond me. I always wear my vest to which my kill switch is attached to when I'm running the big motor. I also purposely avoid situations like that posted the aforementioned video.
  8. Ahhhh! My eyes!!!
  9. Buying tackle for me has been a hobby for the last several years. Even in the last few that I did not have a boat, if a nice rare reel or rod came available, well, let's just say it's probably not available anymore. Now for the how much part? "Your honor, I plead the 5th."
  10. The only problem with Keens is that after a few days of wearing them straight you end up with tiger stripes on your feet.
  11. Sperry Billfish or Keen Rialtos for me.
  12. No way does this thread need to end. Don't click it if you're not into it.
  13. Great responses guys. I've set up a spot in my horse stables that allows me to drive through and store the boat under cover. Directly next to the storage area is a secured room that needs to be cleaned up. I'm planning on lining that room with shelves so I can store my tackle there, along with a counter top that I can use as a workbench. I'll take 'before and after' pictures once I can get started on that project.
  14. I've been going through my old lures and replacing all of the 3700's. By the time it's all said and done I figure I'll have approximately 60-70 of them full of tackle. Some old, some new. For now, I've taken over the mud room at the house. My wife, God bless her, has no issue with it. I'm planning on turning one of the horse stable rooms next year into my dedicated tackle room. I'm also planning on taking up the hobby of turning wooden lures, but we'll save that for another thread. So, how do you store your excess tackle that does not go in the boat? As much as I'd love to take it all with me, I don't think it will fit. Maybe someday, when Ranger makes a Z528 or a Z530. If you do have a dedicated tackle room, let's see it!
  15. Quite happy with my LWRC MR6A2. For self defense? Benelli M4.
  16. Good luck. My favorite song!
  17. Don't drill into the bottom of the hull. That might be bad.
  18. My last boat was a Z22 with a 300 Merc on it. Although it could go faster, I was plenty happy putzing around at 50-55. Same will go for the new boat. It's nice to know you have it there if you need it though.
  19. Yup. My Abel #4 pliers are 16 years old and still going strong. Will never have to replace them.
  20. Get some fishing pliers. More $$$ but you'll only buy them once.
  21. Had the boat shrink wrapped, basically sandpapered the boat here and there during transport. Should have it in a couple weeks.
  22. Sounds like a great trip you're off to. Safe travels!
  23. Boat has arrived, sustained some damage during transport. Insurance is taking care of it so I'll be picking up my brand new 2016 Ranger Z522 in a couple weeks.
  24. Found one of two of my old boga grips. Smells like mouse urine. Tried vinegar, didn't work. going to trash it I guess and buy a new one.
