  1. pfft. If you saw Raider nekked you'd cry like a baby.
  2. The next record will be 28 lbs and come from the CA Delta. There are monsters swimming around in there.
  3. Somewhere there's a photo of the Perry bass, with a small boy holding it.
  4. Stripers in Tennessee. Someday!
  5. Dumbest mistake on the water? Where do I start? One situation that comes to mind is the first time out with my first new bass boat back in '99. Before I picked up the boat the dealer took me out and showed me how to launch, what to look out for, all of the basics. A few weeks go by, and apparently, I should have written all of this down.... I get the boat on the water, tie up to the dock and go park my truck. I hop in the boat and turn her on, and start heading out...give it some more gas, and the front end is pointing straight up in the air. The more gas I give it, the higher the front end goes. What the heck and I doing wrong? Is my boat broken? Motor not right? Luckily the dealer gave me his personal number so I call him from my flip phone and tell him that I think my boat is broken. I explain the situation and tells me, "Is the motor trimmed up??" To which I respond, "What's that?"
  6. I think I have enough of these frogs to last a lifetime, and lock up a few for safe keeping.
  7. Congratulations Brian!
  8. Not me. I don't have a problem.
  9. Thanks guys. They are the creation of this guy. They're hand made, one at a time. I ordered like 2 months ago and just got them today. I understand he sells basic frogs for less, but these customs run about $60 each. http://www.bass-frog.com/
  10. And all I can say is I am beyond pleased! I'm not so sure I want to use them, as they're literal works of art! They fit perfectly into a Plano 3700 Spinnerbait box. I went a little nuts and ordered a bunch of colors. Pictures truly don't do these frogs justice. Some of the finishes are supposed to represent Brazilian poisonous frogs, there are also some that represent local varieties as well. Then there's the Pinkie Frog, which I asked him to make one specifically for my wife. They are all exceptionally well made! As they are all hand made, I sent Ken a picture of my boat, he made a frog to match!
  11. Just ordered this shirt from the show! I grew up in this small town! http://www.redbubble.com/people/scarnsworth/works/22576841-the-original-castroville-artichoke-festival-shirt-dustins-shirt-in-stranger-things?body_color=creme&p=t-shirt&print_location=front&size=medium&style=mens&utm_source=google&utm_medium=google_products&utm_campaign=shopping&country_code=US&gclid=CjwKEAjwmMS-BRCm5dn51JLbp1wSJACc61tFNmEuxJKbmGVTsUAWtPcbmDVr_50Khbg6LlaGStgWbRoC-ePw_wcB
  12. I just saw the brackets. With my OCD, I'd have to get them powder coated or anodized to match the rest of the boat. Therefore factor in an additional cost.
  13. Wow. That little Bass Bandit is cool!
  14. There's a local brewery, Sante Adairius Rustic Ales, that makes some exceptional 'lighter' beers. Unfortunately, you pretty much have to be a local to buy them as they usually sell out of all of their offerings. If you're ever in the Santa Cruz, CA area and are a beer snob, it is a MUST to try. Oh and by the way it's palate, not pallet....
  15. I fish the O'Neill Forebay for stripers a lot. I also am a member at a few private lakes that are fairly shallow, and of course there's the CA Delta that has tremendous amounts of shallow waters to fish.
  16. I'm looking at what, ~$4000 for two 12' talons?
  17. Great points all around. I'll finally be picking up my boat next week if all goes as planned so we'll see how the first few times out go. I suppose I should fish with my pal that has them to see if in fact I'd really feel the need to buy them.
  18. Diablo Joe, Good job and great story about fighting your fish. I remember back when I started fishing and caught a fish that was oversized for my tackle at the time. I evaluated my rod and reel and bought something that was more in line with the fish I'd 'hope' to be catching. I wouldn't worry about 'fighting a bass to exhaustion' too much. Last I heard bass were not on the endangered species list. :). Now go buy some beefier bass tackle and go after a double digit monster!
  19. I've been against installing them on my new boat (I hate the way they look) but the more and more I talk to people that have them they make it seem like they are truly indispensable. I would think that they're a PIA for the person in the back of the boat trying to cast. For those of you that have them could you live without them? IF I was to get them (big IF) I'd probably lean towards the talons. Less moving parts means less things that could break.
  20. That's great! Looking forward to season 2!
  21. Salty Cherrypopper. Kidding. Sharky Sipinnerbait.
  22. Nice! Yes, I wish we had them in CA as well. They'd get huge on the Delta!
  23. Wow. $5400 for a carbon boat seems like a steal. I looked hard at them, but then ended up buying a new Ranger.
  24. That little carbon bass boat was ridiculous. I wonder what they were selling for?
