  1. Since Halloween is coming up in a couple of days I'd like to hear some spooky lake or fishing stories from you guys whether you experienced it or just heard it from someone else. Even if it seems like mumbo jumbo I'd still like to hear it. The only stories I've heard are of Una Lake. Una Lake is in Palmdale, California and based on a conversation I had with a fisherman at the California Aqueduct I was told quite an I interesting story. The conversation started off with us talking about Palmdale Lake (A lake right next to Una Lake) and thinking about joining the fin and feather club (A hunting and fishing group, to fish palmdale lake you have to join the club) as the conversation went on he asked me if I'd like to hear a story about palmdale lake and I said sure. He started off with telling me that right next to palmdale lake on Sierra highway there's another lake called Una Lake. From there he told me that there's sightings of a creature with a really long tail that comes out of the lake to feed on birds and other animals in the area. There's also some "things" that climb into trees around the lake and vanish. The lake is also rumored to be bottomless. There was a truck that crashed and fell into the lake, when the tow truck came there was no sign of the truck so they sent a diver and the diver and the truck was never found. Also, because it is "bottomless" there's stories of murderers dumping bodies into the lake that have never been found. Is the story true? I don't know and I'm not about to go down to una lake to find out. The story has some missing links but it's still pretty interesting.
  2. I've been liking KastKing superpower braid
  3. I use my Abu Garcia Ambassadeur for swimbaits. I'm usually not throwing anything over 4oz.
  4. I ordered the wrong size rod sleeves for most of my setups so I naturally put my hooks on the reel. It's an easy fix but I've postponed it many times and haven't gotten to doing it.
  5. I have some grips on my abu garcia black max. They do give you a better grip but nothing really noticeable in my opinion. They do change the look of your reel, and are a nice cosmetic item. If you're having trouble getting a good grip on the reel handle, I'd suggest replacing it.
  6. I fish spiderwire stealth-braid. I haven't had any issues with the line other than the color fading, which is expected. All braids eventually fade and that's just something we have to live with. I haven't had any reasons to make a switch so I've stuck with spiderwire. When the color fades I just flip the spool and use the other side of the line.
  7. I just started using jigs a while ago and I've had great success with them. I'm currently using and only have used a zoom super chunk. I'm interested in knowing what everyone uses as their trailers.
  8. Does anyone here use snap swivels to easily change their lures/hooks ? Does it affect the movement of your lure dramatically ?
  9. Off Topic: How did you break your vengeance rod ? I'm curious
  10. I've had no issues ordering rods online. I always contact the sellers I'm buying from to make sure they package it correctly, even if it costs a little more. I can vouch for tackle warehouse and various ebay sellers with a good rating. They always come in nice cardboard tubes, rod tips wrapped, and a generous amount of bubble wrap. Most sellers also offer returns if the package comes damaged.
  11. I put it back together, greased, and oiled it. It's working excellent. Thank you.
