I got this boat after my grandaddy passed away as a gift and I decided to redo it from the hull up. It started as a 89 model Fisher boat with a center console. The way it was set up was not the best in the world, so I did some research and built my own setup. I used l-angle aluminum for all my bracing. I have 1-1/2" in some places and 1" in other places. I secured everything with bolts, flat washers, lock washers, and self locking nuts. I also used self tapping metal screws to secure the bracing to the hull cross members. I used 1/4" treated plywood and covered it with 16 oz marine carpet from bassboatcarpets.com. I used 3M Hi-Strength 90 Spray Adhesive to glue the carpet to the plywood. My console was the orginal center console that I cut down and re-angled to fit as a side console. I plan to get a molded console later down the road. I also had to purchase a new gas tank to fit under the rear deck. It was a very nice winter project last year and it really turned out good. Ive been fishing on the boat since May '06 and haven't had any problems so far. If you have any questions please feel free to ask me. I hope this helps somebody else build there own setup. Its well worth the money!
