What is that bottle of green stuff? garlic? glow in the dark?

All I have ever used is mono and braid. I have braid on my new bait caster(local tackle shop spooled me up for free). I just bought 2 spools of fluorocarbon from Walmart on sale. one is vanish and one is seaguar

That is nuts you guys get those monsters like that. I am going tonight and looking at some mono to use as backing. I have been fishing fresh water for about a year and the only other thing I have cought was a gar. its amazing how the species can change in different parts of the country.

They look the same but I think that guy makes his own baits and is showing them off or something. I love the action of it though.

How do you rig those jig heads with the worms? Sorry if its a noob question but would the worm not be crooked because of the straight hook? I am new to bass fishing and want to fish my worms like this.

Thanks guys, I will be looking for more tomorrow. The bass love to ambush the bait fish around them. I want to drop a shaky head on them and see how that does. The flukes work good but with a shaky head I could keep the bait in the strike zone longer.

My local pond is full of hydrilla all the way around except for 3 spots that have no hydrilla but have these "holes" and all the bait fish hang out here. The bass will ambush them coming from the deep and rolling in. Then they will wait for the bait to come back and do it again. I have caught most of my fish by swimming a fluke in these holes and waiting for the ambush. Just was curious what they are? I wonder if someone made them to fish? adult photo sharing

I am fishing a highly pressured Florida park pond thats about the same size if not a bit bigger. any cover or plant life in the water?

Do you think the mono quality really matters? I am new so forgive my ignorance but The mono is just taking up space right? it will not even get down that far, especially for bass fishing?

And that's exactly what they are doing. Chasing the shad to the bank and trapping then in this small section that looks like a finger. Think of the movie 300 when they trapped the enemy in the narrow corridor. its like a feeding frenzy for the first hour or 2 of daylight.

I always wonder if color matters. like if I would have kept the babybass fluke on would I have still caught that bass? Things like that will drive you nuts. I wish I spoke bass!

Never used Fluorocarbon but it was $8.00 marked down from $10.00. I might as well see what all the fuss is about. This was at the Wal-mart in Crestview Florida.

Yes! it was windy as heck and I would have a big bow in my line when I would cast. I bet what I was feeling was all the extra line laying in the water that I had to deal with. Cant believe I didn't think about that.

Got a problem and I want to see if you guys can help me out here. When I am casting my fluke weightless I go with the "twitch twitch stop" style of fishing it. The problem I am having is that when I make long cast the mono seems to stretch more like a rubber band. When this happens I can still do the "twitch" but because it stretches I cannot let the line slack up to give it that natural motion. its hard to explain but in between twitches you want the line to slack so the fluke can kind of do its own thing. This problem got worse after I caught my first bass of the day and it seemed to get worse as the day went on. I am sure it caused me not to catch anymore this morning because the action is so crude when its not working right. Thanks.

Not sure if it matters but here in Destin We have a clerence rack for rods.

Was using a baby Bass colored Fluke with no bites at all this morning. Switched to White and landed a nice little bass on my 2nd cast. Lots of fishing pressure too! picture share

As it gets cooler the boat traffic will fall off. I see you are in Virginia, Ever herd of Harbor mills reservior? My best friend is a trucker and said he slayed them when he fished it.

I have money saved for a guide for Okeechobee. Thinking about buying a Jon boat or a kayak and just going by myself. I have never fished a fresh body of water that big. Everyone here always talks about Okeechobee. Its like the bass fishing mecca around here.

I want to come fish North Carolina so bad. A guy on YouTube has videos of him fishing these roadside creeks in a place called Blane. I think its called Reedy Creek. but just catching bass after bass in the middle of the day.

I have the strike king buzz bait. I assume it would get hung on the hydrilla because it is so high. Do you mean casting it out past the hydrilla and working back in? I didn't even think about it until you said something. I just bought it a few weeks ago and forgot I had it. Some people say they do not like the strike king buzz baits.
