  1. My employer is moving sites to exit 41 off of Rte 93 in Burlington, MA. Anybody here know any good fishing holes close to this area that I can hit on the way in or out of work? There are a couple bodies of water, but not sure if there are any easy ways in/out or if one place has better fishing than the other.
  2. LOVE catching morning fish up top on the water. There's just that adrenaline rush when you see the swirl hit the top. If they're active, chances are they'd hit both. If I have a hard time up top, I'll throw worm to change up the speed. Just a thought. 75% of my fishing day is spent with a crank though just buzzing thru the water columns. With that being said though, early am and late dusk is all top water for me.
  3. Seriously, I ask to stay out to 9pm with just a pregnant wife and get the death stare. lol Nice fish though! Anyone who catches a hawg on a frog I have to give props to. I have had more heartbreaks on top water frogs than I can count. Good stuff, thanks for the post!
  4. Pulled a couple of decent Largemouth out of Kingston Lake last week. I think I got out a little too late though, because mostly pickerel were hitting the medium cranks. Any suggestions for fishing the hot times of day (Noon until about 3 or 4) I can never bring myself to fish open water with a deep crank, it just seems so counter intuitive to move away from the shorelines where you can see lillys, logs, and rocks.
  5. This site is already one of my fav's! People on here have helped me become better with the gear I have, talked me into buying a small fishing boat, and given me great advice on mods for that boat. Thank you to all the anglers and fisherpeople that have made this site a must visit everyday for me. I usually fish larger ponds/smaller lakes around the NH/MA line. PowWow lake is my fav in Kingston, NH, but anything with enough water to support a 4 or 5 Lb bass is home for me. Anybody have any fav's in the southern NH area?

    Top Water Hawgs

Top water early am or late afternoon Largemouth, favorite type of fishing for me by far. Beautiful sky, beautiful fish!

Close to 2Lb's but not quite there. Spent more time out of the water than in!

Fun little smallie that felt like a big fish. Couldn't believe the fight on this guy. 1.53Lbs

Early am top water hit. Fun since it was topwater, love how aggressive these guys are.

PB, 3.08Lb's. So much fun, this was like a movie, such a blast! Threw out a spook right next to a group of reeds sticking up out of the water as the steam is floating above the glass-like water. As soon as the bait hit the water ,you just see a swirl and she engulfs it ! She took the drag at first, jumped into the weeds, dove deep...anything a bass can do to try and get away, she did. A blast and a great day!
  11. I'll usually take the lure off and put it away, but leave the swivel on and attach to the bottom place holder (not the bottom guide) Interesting thought from Quake though...Can't tell you how many times I question the knot before a fishing trip. I may have to start tying new knots every weekend on at least my crankbait setup
  12. I have recently purchased a fun little bass boat with a 55lb thrust Minn Kota trolling motor from Dicks sporting goods. I took it out with a buddy and had a blast. It's kind of limited as far as add-ons and the plastic is curved and difficult to find a flat spot to mount anything. Any good ideas for storage and add-ons to make this a little more "out all day" friendly? Also wanted to get some feedback/advice about painting the boat. I heard any paint is going to come off pretty quickly once in water. This is going to have to appease my appetite for a boat for awhile, (baby on the way) so I want to get it as close to a bass boat as possible. Appreciate the input and ideas. I'll post pictures along the way of things I try.
