  1. I have a buddy who has a few 1st generation revo sx for sale, are these good reels?
  2. I am fishing a tournament on wheeler and I have only fished it once before, but I have a decent idea of what to fish, but does anyone have any suggestions or places to fish
  3. And you are correct I always have like zero spool tension because I set the centrifugal brakes
  4. Or when there is line but it isn't rigged up
  5. It only does this with no line, and all it is a faint noise of the gears moving and a little bit of spool wobbling
  6. I noticed on my brand new Lews BB1 I purchased it has a little bit of spool play or a little gear play and it isn't loud but when you spin the handle without any line on the spool you can hear the little bit of play. Is this normal?
  7. Thank you this has given me confidence not to worry, so you guy should think that it is normal and that I should be good?
  8. Yea it is a little bit of gear noise
  9. You are correct it only does it when there is zero tension against the line I think it Is because of the no tension and the noise isn't enough to barley even hear and it isn't abnormal it is just the gears moving not grinding, can't you guys hear you reel's gears moving a little??
  10. It is a lews and I don't think it I should a problem I can just kind of hear madness feel the gears but it isn't loud it is only when the reel Is off a rod and I spin the handle to see how long it will spin and it is brand new I think it just needs to Be broken in. Is slightly hearing the gears move normal cause it isn't loud?? I meant and where it says madness
  11. I don't think it is abnormal but it's not really when the line is slack it is just when you take the handle to spin it to see how smooth it is Does this mean I just need to break the reel in first?
  12. I don't think it is an issue but I have noticed on all the new reels a bit that you can kinda hear the gears going is this normal? New reels I buy
  13. Alright well for the spots I may stick with the avid just cause the fish I will be catching probably won't be over 3-4 pounds and I may not even fish the 3/4 ounce jig, thank you for the great advice!!
  14. Yea true, very true I have a senko and I meant the tourney is next weekend and also do u think the ghost would be good for Carolina rigs? Cause if you have every wished with a duckett they kinds feel a little overpowered to me, so the extra heavy feels more like just a heavy to me
  15. Ok so you would say go with the ghost if it will cast because I have already used it in ponds but one of my tournaments is this weekend and I will be fishing lake Martin, which has quite a few spots I'm thinking going with the avid just because spots surge a lot and I want to have a little give
  16. Ok but to get into more detail both are sensitive and the avid is older and kind of best up then would you still go with the avid, and one more questions one of the eyes has a bent arm and the epoxy cracked and I put some new in there, if I fished the avid would it be fine with that eye?
  17. I will be fishing Texas rigs and jigs up to 3/4 ounce and I have two rods to choose from, a duckett ghost 7'6 extra heavy or a 7' medium heavy st.croix avid. Could you guys tell me what you think which rod you would use out of these two. And I will be fishing the jigs and Texas rigs on braid
  18. Well I have a 7 medium action quantum smoke casting rod and I am throwing like 4 inch swim baits like keitechs Would that rod work
  19. Trying to find a good combo for finesse swimbaits and I want the combo to double as a light plastics rod
  20. Yes it does make a good combo I appreciate the advice a lot it helps me out in my tournaments!!! tight lines, and big bites!!!!
  21. Yea I have it paired with a duckett 320 casting reel and I think it will do good for pop r's and small Texas rigs along with weightless senkos, do u think it would do good with brush piles? And also what line would you recommend That is a good fish wish I would of had 5 of those in live well today at one of my tournaments
  22. Ok, but is a casting rod and the reel throws weightless plastics but I didn't know if it had enough power for Texas rigs around docks and rip rap
  23. Do u guys think I use this rod for 1/8-1/4 Texas rigs
  24. Yes I have owned a shimonoseki symmetry and I love it!! Shimano
