  1. James creek is where everyone says to fish. I only fished there twice last year and never really found a good pattern. The fish I caught were all over the lake and the only thing I can add of value is the pattern definately changes if the water is moving. Allen
  2. Prefish if you are allowed, it will tell you more than advice from an internet fishing pro. Allen
  3. It is easiest to just put the skirt on with the rubber collar then wire tie in front of the skirt. Below is an example of the wire pliers I use and the wire you use is up to you. The green tomato stake wire from Wal-Mart works as does any other wire close to 22 guage it is just a matter of personal preference. 4. Depends on what you are trying to accomplish? Most factory 3/8oz baits will have a 3.5 or 4 front willow and 4.5 rear. The 1/2oz will be 4 and 5 for blade sizes. The baits I make I like smaller blades and will use 3.5 and 4 willows on both sizes. Around here we fish a lot of clear water and there are a lot of SM. Big blades rarely work unless it is the fall but compact baits seem to work. Let me know if you can use some 3/8oz hidden weight heads as I have some built on 1/4oz super stainless frames I could trade. Allen
  5. I use a metal baking pan under the lead melter so I do not have to worry about accidently burning the wood. Allen
  6. I do the same thing and can tell you I cannot notice any smell. The gel dries quick and does not wick the weedguard like the thin krazy or super glues. Allen
  7. March is the best time for both unless the river is flooded. If the river is flooded the fishing gets better at the other place. BTW you guys missed some great deals at the Ag show in Boonsboro. I got 3 packs of Yamamoto flappin hogs for $2 Allen I have seen your tackle hoarding epidemic. ;D You just save those Flappin' Hogs for me. LOL Great find!! Just because I have one or two baits more than most people does not mean I have a problem. :-? Let me know if you want some of the LC slender pointers I picked up like 20 spares recently. Allen
  8. The early bird is on again this year late in Feb but there is no way I am fishing it. Four Locks is the worst place to fish! The only fish caught the guys run all the way upriver past Hancock. Allen
  9. Hey Allen, SPEED and I have talked before about hitting there too (so I believe I know where you're referring to). If you need a partner to fish there, let me know too! I'd definitely be up for it! I've hooked some good ones in there but the best one I've landed is only 4 1/2lbs.

  11. Shakeyhead T-rigged with >1/8oz sinker Split shot rig Mojo rig Allen
  12. Wdo you plan on fishing? The Dickerson power plant area always has muddy banks unless you follow the trail all the way up to the off limits area. Allen
  13. You have NO idea how much I want to get in there with you guys. Just the thought of throwing the big stuff in there makes me giddy. ;D So there is a secret spot I do not know about huh? Wayne, you can go with me to that spot we hit last time. In March right after ice out as I cannot find a partner? Everyone seems to b**ch out because of the cold. My current 5 fish record is 22lbs 3oz for that place with March being the best time for big fish. Allen
  14. It sucked. Allen
  15. I use whatever brand that looks like it will work! Most of the stuff I use regularly is Zoom or Berkley because I can get it anywhere. Allen
  16. Jig. Allen
  17. Green pumkin Solid black White for flukes Smoke for grubs/DS lures If I could only pick 1 color period it would be green pumkin. Allen
  18. Gunnish 95mm in Hasu. Allen
  19. The quality like everyone said is the reason for the higher cost. Now should you replace every bait in your tacklebox with a LC, no but some of them really stand out. My top 3 that are must haves: Pointer = Size and color dependant on where you fish RC 1.5 = Best crankbait I own and I have 100's Gunfish = Don't know why but it outfishes all other walking baits Allen
  20. http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/gallery/image/7864-spinn-minnow/ Looks like someone beat me to it but at least I know it will work. Allen
  21. http://www.predatorbassbaits.com/id81.html Will these pop max eyes work? Allen
  22. Jig Finesse worm Creature bait Allen
  23. I understand the theory behind this but 90% of the time I lose the whole rig not just the sinker. Now I have some of just about every brand but most of the time I just use the brass eye bank sinkers from Wally Mart. Allen
  24. Any water 20 outside my house is frozen solid right now. Allen
  25. I am sure he put some work into it I just don't think it is an original design. Allen What a fascinating argument! I think you should sue on behalf of God. Clearly every minnow bait ever crafted is a blatant attempt at ripping Him off by copying the minnow. Let us know how the court case goes. So now God created the original jerkbait? Allen You apparently didn't understand my post. Sorry, sarcasm is lost on some. I understood just fine and my question was right on par with your statement. Now let me explain what I mean by "original design" to clarify. When the bait was designed they copy another bait then just make a few changes is not what I consider "original". Lucky craft pointer is a original design. http://www.***.com/Lucky_Craft_Pointer_Minnow/descpage-LCPT.html#multiview Xcaliber Xt3 this is not http://www.***.com/XCalibur_Xt3_Twitch_Bait_/descpage-XT3TB.html#multiview
