  1. The new Donkey Punch color, I just picked up a pack to try last week. Allen
  2. Creature baits are what load the boat for me and there are a lot of good recommendations here. My opinion the two baits I rely on the most are the Zoom baby brush hog and the RI smallie beaver both in green pumkin. Now I will tell you I have yet to find a creature bait that didn't work but the two I mentioned have worked the best for me. The Yamamoto Kreature and full size brush hogs are great for larger bass I have found so I switch to them when trying to cull. Regular size RI beavers work but IMO they do not work any better than the smallie size and the smallie ones work a lot better pre-spawn for me. Flappin hogs work but since the re-design I find that the pinchers are ripped off to easily by panfish. The only other bait I would try would be the 4" Berkley power hawg, it is what I use in between the smallie beaver and baby brush hog. Allen
  3. What do I like or what am I good at? Personally I really like to fish spinnerbaits but they are not the best that day most of the time. Now what I am good at is pitching creature baits to any visible cover. Creature baits in green pumkin have accounted for so many fish I carry about 20lbs worth in my boat. What I dislike is anything I have to use a spinning rod for and my least favorite of all is weightless worms like a senko. Now I try to be as versatile as any good bass angler so I will use whatever puts fish in the boat but man I dislike spinning rods. Allen
  4. Does anyone here have one from Bob or Del that can pour me some worms? I am looking for some of the 4.8" worms in some custom colors. Allen
  5. Are you going? I should be able to go Saturday. Allen
  6. Ice storm today and we lost power for several hours. That groundhog needs to be shot! Allen
  7. Jig for me! Tubes seem to hang way to easy and I am very good at fishing a jig. Last year I used exactly 2 tubes and one is still setting on my boat deck. Now I know they catch fish but just don't work very well for me. Allen
  8. There are no 10hp restricted lakes in Maryland, all of ours are electric only if they are used as a water supply. I am fine with this for the most part but Black Hills Lake Seneca is a big windfest and will kill some TM batteries quick. What gets me is the exemptions that some people have? Rocky Gap has a pontoon boat they drive around and the dummy life guards about run into canoes or kayaks everytime I am there. Personally I would have no problem with those lakes being 6 mph zones like much of Mattawoman Creek on the lower Potomac. Allen
  9. Please delete this until I am able to buy some more at reasonable prices? Besides the XS4 that was a secret I like LC pointers in ghost minnow with size being determined by the size of the local baitfish. Other less expensive baits: Smithwick Rogue = Super and suspending are hard to beat at any price range. Rapala Husky jerk = I like chrome/black back, white, CW (which is discontinued but you can still find them). Another bait I recommend isn't a jerkbait but I fish it like one, the Rapala suspending shad rap catches a lot of fish for me in the same situation you would use a deeper diving jerkbait. Allen
  10. Mine are solid bodies and I doubt if they can be broken. For a scientific experiment on durability I ran one over with my full size Yukon and it survived. Allen
  11. http://s1187.photobucket.com/user/Munkin275/media/100_7400.jpg.html?sort=3&o=18 I have made crankbaits before using the process you are describing. The ones above I used a 1 to 0.8 ratio for the micro balloons so they would float. The orange bait has dye that was added to the mixing process so it is solid orange. I am good at building these but my painting skills are horrible. Allen
  12. Florida and winter bass fishing do not belong in the same sentence! It gets down to what 68 degrees in Florida? My take is that if you are not hitting ice with the boat it is not winter fishing. Yes I am hating on the Florida crowd because I have at least 3" of snow on my boat cover. Allen
  13. I have noticed a lot of "what is your favorite" threads on here lately which is usual. What I question is people saying their favorite bait is something that has been out like 3 months? Before I recommend a bait I have to caught at least 100 fish on it at least. So my question is what makes something your favorite bait? Allen
  14. Post a pic and we will guess appropriately? Allen
  15. Try a Zoom tiny fluke in alwife and keep your DS leader at about 6". Personally I find it hard to fish a DS in the river or creeks because it is so hard to keep the panfish away. The other bait you should try since you mentioned green pumkin is a Zoom meathead worm. Allen
  16. I carry 3 plano 3700 boxes and sort by weight and approximate color. Looking at some of the pics you guys must not lose too many jigs? I have lost over 25 finesse jigs in one outing so I make and carry a few spare. Allen
  17. When you start replacing new lures in the tackle box that have never touched the water with newer from that year it is a sign. Actually I am over the buying the latest and greatest phases but still buying discontinued lures from the 1980's that I like. Allen
  18. Getting the density correct is the hard part IMO. I have tried the 2 part epoxies and have made several shakey heads but getting enough tungsten powder mixed in to create a density equal to or greater than lead has been the problem. If you have this problem solved please post it because at $45 a pound tungsten powder is expensive to experiment with. Allen
  19. Someone mentioned that no single bait will cover all situations which is why we all carry more baits than we actually need. If you want to see what a good crankbait looks like see the pic above. I have several LC RC 1.5 baits that look like this or worse in my go to box. Some of the baits mentioned here are new so how are they a favorite bait? For me I have to catch a minimum of 50 fish on a bait before I will recommend it to others. Allen
  20. How is the fishing at Conowingo Reservoir? Allen
  21. I have used toothpicks, rubber pegs, bobber stops and the pegs Tru-Tungsten use to sell for their weights. The cheap red and black 8-12lb bobber stops work great for me for most of my fishing. Like someone mentioned these things are really inexpensive compared to everything else. For the heavier 1oz+ punch weights the regular bobber stops do not work as well so I recommend the heavier ones made for punching. Allen
  22. I cannot as it would only confirm my hoarding of lures! Allen
  23. Gama drop shot hook Owner mosquito hook Stand out hook (cannot remember who makes it) Gama size 1 ewg hook These are what I use depending on the bait and cover. Allen
  24. Berkley drop shot worm but they are discontinued. Allen
  25. Let me know if you need some soft plastics as I have a few hundred extras. Allen
