  1. Around here any color works as long as it is white. Allen
  2. Looks like a house brand bait from BPS or Cabelas? Allen
  3. An actual fishing thread with useful information in it, I knew this day would come! All the replies above are spot on with what I have found. Small hair jigs or 2 1/2" tubes fished slow enough to be live bait in deeper areas. Allen
  4. Sometimes it is worth the cost but I do not use it all the time. Heavier punching weights and times where I want a smaller profile in clear water. I like the guys that think Tungsten is good for the environment? You may want to re-check the facts on it. Allen
  5. There are a lot of other jobs out there that do not require bothering me at home. Allen
  6. Usually I just hang up but the last time they called I decided to mess with them. He said his name was Mike "I think?" and said my computer was sending him error messages. When he ask my name I said Habeeb then ask if he knew the Slum Dog Millionaire? He hung up without fixing the error messages, Microsoft systems support needs to hire some better employees. Allen
  7. http://www.captainhookswarehouse.com/index.cfm?page=products&view=1 Here is the cheapest place to buy treble hooks. Allen
  8. By the looks of what you have I would only add a few baits? KVD 1.5 baits in Chart/black back, craw, and gizzard shad. Some Bandits size 100 and 200 in similar colors and you should be set. That gray/white Baby 1- you have there was the most productive crank I used in MO when I spent 17 weeks at FT Leonard Wood. Honestly I don't see a need to spend $250 on crankbaits? One thing you do need is a lure retriever that run about $15 as it will save you hundreds of dollars in baits. Allen
  9. Let me know if you find one that doesn't work? Zoom are sold everywhere and have worked for years. Allen
  10. Sally Hansens Hard as Nails works great and it is what I use to put eyes on jigs. Like others have mentioned powder paint really hold up well so I see no need for a clear coat. The only time I clear over a regular jig is if I want to add some flake. Cadman has probably made more jigs than anyone on this board and is an expert in powder painting. Allen
  11. Cabin Creek Bassmasters will be having their annual Flea Market at the Washington County Ag Center on January 17 & 18. Obviously it's a flea market but we do have a few vendors including River Rock Custom Baits Pappy's Baits B&B Lures Tuscarora Tackle and a few others. We will be having an auction at 12 noon on Sunday and the proceeds will go towards the Nelson L. (Butch) Ward Memorial Youth Scholarship Fund. Saturday and Sunday January 17th and 18th 9 AM till 1 PM (doors open at 8:00 on Saturday) There will be a food stand run by Mrs. Gibbles Restaurant Washington County MD Agriculture Education Center 7313 Sharpsburg Pike Boonsboro, MD 21713 That is the weekend. Allen
  12. There are quite a few in the area that I know of. Antietam Boonsboro Williamsport (This is the one I currently fish) Outcast Hub City Cabin Creek These are the ones I can think of off the top of my head? Cabin Creek has a fishing flea market the weekend on January 18th (I need to double check that date). I suggest you come buy as just about every club will be there in some fashion. If you need me to answer any questions just send me a PM. Allen
  13. I heard that fishing that club was dangerous and I should wear a hockey mask if I do. Allen
  14. You joke but there are a lot of posts that pop up like that? " I am throwing a SK 6XD, Sexy shad color in a 3' deep pond and keep getting hung up. If I switch to the 6XD in Red Craw will it get hung up more or less?" Allen
  15. Just hoping we can set aside all those questions for some discussions that will help. Case in point: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/76292-demystifying-structure/ This thread is very useful and I have it saved to my favorites to re-read occaisionally. The " I fish my 4th cousins, ex-stepfathers, half-brothers 1 acre farm pond what color senko should I use?" is played out. Those fish in that pond will hit any dam colored senko you throw so quit overthinking it. I am not trying to come off as a d**k just hoping to get some better discussions going. Allen
  16. Caught 2 last year about 36" flippin docks at Deep Creek Lake, MD on a 1/2oz jig. Personal best was 42' caught on a LC Slender pointer 97mr that never ran right again. Allen
  17. On any "What is your favorite" or "If you could only have one whatever" threads. No one on here is going to be parachuted behind enemy lines with only a single lure to catch bass. Allen
  18. Ebay or Ichiban tackle is where I find stuff like this. Allen
  19. Pick up any in Natural Shad that you would like to get rid of? I use these when I need a slower fall or want a slimmer profile. Allen
  20. Bandit 300 SK 5 or 6 series Allen
  21. Ball or Arky Allen
  22. The smell and stickiness is from the manufacturing process. Normally they let the tabs air dry enough but sometimes they do not. Charles from Fishingskirts.com told me a couple years ago just to let them air out for awhile and it will go away. Allen
  23. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/147890-overall-advice-for-anyone-interested-in-tacklemaking/ See the above post. I suggest trying to pour some baits in Lure Craft molds first before trying to make them. Crankbaits made from wood are very tough for a beginner unless you are good at wood carving. Even if you are good at carving a lot goes into making a crankbait like ballasting, lip angle, sealing the bait, etc. If you are dead stuck on a wooden lure try making a topwater. Allen
  24. The ones I tie look like crap but they catch fish which is all that matters. Bear hair on a football head with a F12 weedguard is my favorite. Allen
