I never understood this? Whatever worked pre-fishing is what I start with on game day and adjust as needed.
As for what lures cost when I was a broke 14 yr old I could only afford so much. Now that I am older I still look for deals but my fishing time is limited so I don't really care what a lure costs since I am no longer a broke teenager.

Bottom one looks like a threadfin to me? I know they may not be native but I can buy dead threadfin shad here in Maryland for bait at Wal-Mart and Kmart so that maybe the source? Kind of like the alligators they found here in the Upper Potomac river, some idiot dumped them not thinking.

Some baits just work better for certain applications. The best example is the Yamamoto senko. Yes it costs more and you can buy similar baits but none work as well weightless. Now before someone says it no I haven't tried (Insert the name of the bait your 1st cousin or someone in your bass club makes using better ingredients like Papa Johns) or every bait out there but in 3 years of trying never found one.

Like others have said it depends on the conditions but I have 4 main colors:
White/shadish
Sunfish/bluegill
Greem Pumkin
Black
If I need to make color changes to one of these four I change trailer color.

Best advice I can give is to get a good set of split ring pliers if you plan on changing a lot of them. As for brands and types it is all a personal preference.

Any straight tailed worm works but my favorite from last year was a Zoom Swamp Crawler. Swamp Crawlers are $4 for a 25 pack and they are softer than other Zoom worms.

They are not rigged straight. Things you can do are; Make sure hook is perfectly straight, Use EWG hook or keel weighted hook.
As for the Florida rig weights I never use them but I will use a bobber stop pegged 1/32oz bullet weight.
