  1. Sex Panther, 60% of the time it works every time! Allen
  2. Color matters but after bass fishing for awhile I have narrowed down to a few main stays. Having fished in 9 different states I have only found one body of water where GP did not work in soft plastics. So besides that pond on FT. Leonard Wood it has worked everywhere else so it is my go-to color. Sometimes adding an accent helps to dial them in but most the time basic colors work. Allen
  3. Baby Bass one is a Kinami spit-n-splash popper. The other one I have seen before but cannot remember what it is called. Allen
  4. So I have been trying to make some of my own chatterbaits with mixed results. The painted head is a Phoenix casting jig that I tried opening up the eyelet to put a blade on. As you can see I broke several trying with a punch so that did not work well for me. The bottom bait is a 30 degree hook poured into an a sparkie do-it mold that worked quite well. I have never caught a fish on one of these baits but since I like to tinker I figured I would give it a shot. Allen
  5. I don't get on RS much anymore for some reason? Allen
  6. Those are my top two crankbaits hands down! The LC 1.5 overtook the Bandit 100 in general but the Bandit still rules on the river. My top 10 cranks (and yes I own most of them) in about the order they work best for me: 1. LC 1.5 Silent 2. Bandit 100 or 200 (depends on depth) 3. Manns Baby 1- 4. Rebel Deep Wee-R 5. LC BDS 1.2 6. SK 5 series (silent) 7. TD shallow crank with titanium bill (forget the actual name but it is discontinued unfortunately) 8. SK 1.5 (I may not give this enough credit and TOW as I have a lot of the RC baits to throw) 9. TD Scouter Crank 10. Jackall Zero Footer Honorable mention: Bagely Sunfish, Excaliber fat free shad Allen

    Jig Skirts!

Personally I go through fazes where my jigs have to be 6 colors but most of the time I keep things simple. GP, watermelon, brown, black, and maybe some orange in the square cut silicone skirting. When I want a bulkier jig I use Starflash skirts in black, brown, or some combination on the two. My favorite big bass skirt material was called hydro and it is no longer available so the skirts I have left generally only come out when money is on the line. Allen
  8. While I cannot see what type of lures are in the link from past experience those cranks usually suck. It is not worth my time and frustration to buy a $2 crank that I spend all day tuning. Allen
  9. Some are worth it while others are not? Like someone mentioned for jerkbaits the way LC performs it is worth the cost. I can tell you that I own just about every expensive deep diving crank (Jackall, MB, LC, etc.) and none of them work half as good as a SK 5 series. Spend what you can afford and look for value not cost as it does not equate to fish catching ability. Allen
  10. Skin tight mini. Allen
  11. Heddon Tiny Torpedo in chrome w/black back. Allen
  12. Try the baits you have and if they don't work then adjust? I have caught bass on a Rebel wee-r from 1989 to last year so I know they still work. The only crank I would suggest adding to your arsenal is a 1.5 bait. Lucky Craft and Strike King make them along with others but I would start with one of those two. The 1.5 is a squarebill crank that runs about 3-5 feet and is just a fish catching machine. For colors go with something that matches the local forage? Gizzard shad and Black back chartuese have been my main two colors in general with crayfish thrown in for river smallmouth. I will add that the Bandit cranks in 100-300 size are in my top 5 most productive crankbaits. Allen
  13. You are a lot better at tying than anything I have ever done and they look great. Having made a lot of spinnerbaits the only thing I would change is reversing those swivels on the underspins. The way you have the swivels it takes more force for them to spin. They are not wrong by any means but they just spin easier the other way. Allen
  14. I bake mine at 350 for 20 minutes but like the above posts times and ovens differ. White is the only color that gives me a problem to where I have to follow the instructions and put a thermometer in the oven. My oven is a $15 model from Ollie's discount store and the temps are off by at least 25 degrees so I just wing it. I have been powder painting jigs for almost a decade in this oven and have not had a problem with chipping and I fish a lot of jigs. Certain colors are a PITA and pearl white has been that way for me. Allen
  15. Every bass fisherman I know has had a Daredevil spoon at one time in their life. I tried but never caught anything on them? Only spoon that has worked for me is the Johnson Silver Minnow and it is a pickerel magnet. Allen
  16. Someone will start selling them again and either Bill Dance, Jimmy Houston or Rowland Martin will be pimping them to the masses. Allen
  17. This works really well with those segmented LC baits. Allen
  18. Do you have any 4" straight or paddle tailed Berkley worms you want to get rid of? Allen

  21. Agreed There was a custom painter out of Florida by that name as I have some of his baits. Allen
  22. I had one of those boxes but it now lives at the bottom of Raystown Lake in PA. Allen
  23. http://www.davestournamenttackle.com/index.php/skirt-colors.html He has 99 different skirt colors so which one are you looking to make? Allen
  24. Keitech 3.8" Fat Impact and PLINE Kick-R minnow in 4" are my current favorites. Allen
  25. I have been using a fluid bed from TJ's for like 10 years with good results. Allen
