  1. 100% Floro PLine I have been using for at least a decade and have never had any problems. Floroclear I have heard some stories about but have never used it myself. Allen
  2. Come on who else is in? Salljaw67, Cadman. and Bluebasser86 I know you all are constantly making baits so jump on in. I just burnt 2 of my fingers making jig trailers for this swap so others need to sign up. Allen
  3. I think we need at least 12 participants for the swap. Allen
  4. Any soft plastics made without salt naturally float. Allen
  5. Glad I am not alone in the struggle. Allen
  6. I have lure making OCD and all freshwater prey is lighter on the bottom. Allen
  7. That is a good color but the skirt needs twisted around 180 degrees. Allen
  8. I don't hate them but only use them for baits too light to cast with a baitcaster. As far as accuracy I think it just depends on what you like and how much experience you have. Me personally I can cast a jig into a shot glass at 25' with a baitcaster but cannot hit the broad side of a barn with a spinning rod. Just like senkos I know I need spinning rods but they are definitely not my first choice. Allen
  9. Google image Terminator jigs and you will see them. I think they have been discontinued but am not sure. Allen Google image Terminator jigs and you will see them. I think they have been discontinued but am not sure. Allen
  10. This gets me to point number 2, what value do you place on time on the water. When I was a broke teenager I could spend 2 hours tuning a bait or modifying it. Now if it takes me more than 5 minutes it is sold or given away as I do not have time to mess with it. Allen
  11. I actually caught a bass once that wasn't in the water. Casted a power hawg over this branch that was about 12" above the water. Shook the bait and it slowly moved down the branch toward the water then when it was about 6" above the water a bass jumped up and grabbed it. Fish was only about 15" but to catch one not in the water was a new for me. Allen
  12. Hope I can help. Allen
  13. Deep Creek Lake Merryland; Pickerel, Pike, Musky, Walleye all of which have teeth and love to steal lures whenever they can. The last club tournament I fished there I caught 2 Pike over 36" on a 1/2oz black jig flippin docks. Worst was one hit a jerkbait then spasmed in the net which wrapped teeth and 3 sets of teeth everywhere. Allen See my post above about the light bulb changer. I have a buddy that can cast a lure into the only tree on the lake from 300 yards away. I am the expert at retrieving his lures from trees with my light bulb retriever. Allen
  14. I have never caught a fish in the trees they were all in the water, just sayin. Allen
  15. I don't think they have a weight transfer system but I have never had a problem casting them. They do make a suspending and floating model and the floating one is lighter. Floaters have different colored eyes (I will have to look it up but I think floaters have yellow eyes while SP baits are red) and smaller bills which is how you tell them apart. The other thing to look into is if you have a Ollie's store in your area. They sell stuff from stores that have closed and they were selling LC baits for like $7 2 weeks ago. Allen
  16. Buy a telescopic light bulb changer from Lowes, etc. pull the spring ring off the end and swap the metal fingers in electrical tape. You can use this to get back most lures from the bank and it will pay for itself after a trip or two. Allen
  17. Just trying to put things into perspective. Allen
  18. We also get the no understand English crowd. My buddy knocked there grill over backing his trailer up since they would not move. Allen
  19. Just wanted to post this based on some people saying they would never buy a lure over X amount. For me it is relative to what the lure is and how it is used. Lets take topwaters for example in this scenario, yes a $20 topwater is an expensive initial investment but answer me this. How many topwater baits do you lose? I have been bass fishing since 1986 and have lost exactly 4. Taking that into account how many senkos or Keitech baits do you go through and what do they cost? Jerkbaits are another bait, besides losing them to toothy fish how many do you lose? I have lost 3 in 10 years and broke 3 more hitting something usually the TM head. For me a LC jerkbait costs as much as 2 bags of senkos and while the senkos I can go through in a day the LC I will have for years. Throwing this though out there because it has been on my mind for a little while now. Honestly my main expense is gas and I spend more in Optimax oil a year that I do on lost or broken lures. PS: Buy a good lure retriever. Allen
  20. Different colors will bleed together even from the same manufacturer. Zman baits will melt together with whatever you put them with. Allen
  21. Smithwick Rogue and a Rapala Husky Jerk should be on your list. Allen
  22. They maybe good prey but I hate fishing lakes here in Merryland that are stocked with trout. There is someone every 3' on the bank with 3 poles in the water and I always have to argue with people when trying to launch my boat. Even though there are 3 signs that say not fishing on the boat ramp there is always someone with lawn chairs setup when I get there. They get ticked off when I ask them to move so I can launch and yell about how they were there first. I try pointing to the signs but they still give me a rash of **** because they were there first. Same goes when I try to come in to put the boat on the trailer. I have cut at least 10 lines that I caught with the TM because they cast out in front of me when trying to come in. I respect my elders but it is always some senior citizen that is doing it because I have the nerve to put in and takeout on the boat ramp that they considered their own fishing pier. Now I just try and avoid that mess all together. Allen
  23. Well it is warm enough now for me to pour some jigheads so who is in for the swap. Allen
  24. Here is one of several of my jerkbait boxes. Allen
  25. Should not be much of a problem. Allen
