Ive caught them before also, Casted to close to the edge with a 4" pumpkin power lizard and seen something pounce on it. Was a frog. Once pond I walk around gets CHOKED with matted grass and you could see all the frogs moving around. Took the hook off, tied my line around a hula grub and would cast it out..Theyd grab it fight them in shake it they would fall off and repeat. Greedy lil critters cuz some of the ones Id let go would grab it over and over.

I use them all the time here aswell. On the Potomac and Upper bay they are deadly, One of my strong points is fishing gin clear water, thanks to the reservoirs around here I can adapt a little easier now.

I just looked up the closing times for boating on the WSSC's website and they close down on December 15th (Black Hills closes this day aswell)

I believe they shut it down in the winter, Hows the water level up there? I'd love to give it a shot once more this year also.
