  1. So I'm fishing a new lake and not sure what to use. I have my first ever high school tournament next weekend and I'm clueless. I just don't know what to use. It's a clear lake and you're not even aloud to touch it with your body except to release fish. The lake is Lake Maumelle in Arkansas. So what baits should I start with? I know a guy who's son fished it and got 1st place earlier in the year by ripping spinnerbaits and chatterbaits through the grass 8-10ft off the banks. Should I try that? Btw I'm going to pre-fish it on Sunday to see but I would still like some tips!!
  2. Okay guys I really have a few questions. My first is will smallmouth and other River bass eat small bream that are 2-4 inches? And next question is will I catch a descent amount of bass using minnows/small bream/baitfish? I have a net so that I can get all. I am fishing in a rocky river with clear water at 1-6ft. I'm not looking for size. Btw I can get 3+ minnows with one swipe with my net.
  3. Okay so I am fishing a river that is anywhere from 1-6 feet deep with fairly clear water. I caught a spot yesterday on a popper but it took a pretty good while. I was wondering what was the best bait? There's smallmouth, largemouth, and spots. I would really like to catch smallmouth but not sure what to use. Recommendations? I also wanna catch largies and spots. Best baits for each? I already tried senkos and it didn't work. If it helps I am fishing southern Arkansas at the little Missouri River.
  4. So I'm fairly new to chatterbait fishing and I was wondering if you guys could give me some tips. I have caught a few fish on chatterbait a before but not many. Maybe 6-7 fish. the best colors to use in muddy water and clear water? The best trailer for black and blue chatterbaits? The best trailer for white and chartreuse? Best colors in general and best trailers?
  5. When I say tackle I mean hooks, weights, boxes, bags, plastics, hard baits, and everything tackle wise. Wondering how much you guys spend monthly and yearly. I would say I spend anywhere between $25-$50 a month. I use lots of senkos. How much do you guys spend?
  6. I fished them last month and caught a 7 pounder so I know that there's bass
  7. So I'm going fishing at 2 ponds soon that I know hold some big bass. These ponds are cattle ponds so they are very muddy. Both are pretty shallow. 4ft max. One pond has 3 trees and a small island that's about 5ft around. The other has a bunch of bushes, grass, and trees in it.
  8. So I'm fishing a pond that's about 10 acres. It doesn't have muddy water but it's not clear either. It has very few weeds but it has some dead trees/tree limbs all around it. It has 2-3 mounds of dirt out in the middle you could get to with a boat and has about 10-15 foot holes on each side of the mounds. I've used senkos and have caught a few descent fish. My buddy and his dad fish it often and they use ONLY rooster tails. They catch lots of fish but all smaller than the ones I catch with a senko. Any other suggestions on what I should use? I'm using senko weightless wacky and Texas btw
  9. Okay so my friend invited me to fish at his farm pond that has a ton of 8+ pond bass. He catches at least 2-3 5+ pounders every time he goes. So any way back to my question. I know near to nothing about the pond except that there is fish in it and also the baits my friend told me he uses. And those baits are white spinnerbait senko buzzbait and any craw type baits now I need some tips still. What should I start with? Should I buy other baits just in case? I was thinking a white chatterbait. Also he said best colors were white, any dark green, and green/blue mix. I already have a white spinner and seniors with the colors green pumpkin black flake and watermelon with black and red flake. I have 2 black buzz baits as well. I bought a chartreuse and white spinnerbait too. And my last question: should I get extras?
  10. So I have a few rods and reels but they're all anywhere from $50-$80. Well now I just found my sisters fenwick rod and shimano aero 1000 reel. She got it from this man years ago. Long before I was old enough to fish. She was one of the only young gals he knew that fished so he gave her all of his rods and reels and over $400 in tackle. Well I've been using that rod and reel setup and its sooooo smooth!!! I'm looking to spend about 250 for a nice rod and reel since I'm starting to fish almost every day. Any suggestions?
  11. Thanks for all of the suggestions!!
  12. My question is what's best? Tackle bag or backpack? Currently I have a Plano tackle bag that holds 4 3600 and 2 smaller ones that have 5-6 slots in the side and 1 pocket up front to hold pliers, scale, clippers, etc... I have it LOADED. Don't get me wrong, it's great but I need more room. So I was thinking a backpack. 2 of my friends have them and they love theirs. So what's best? What do you prefer? What are the pros and cons?
  13. Okay first of all sorry if this is the wrong category but I thought this would be the best. Okay so now my question. I recently sold my xbox 360 and Xbox one+games and got about $400. Keep in mind that I sold it specifically for tackle. So I was looking for a really smooth spinning setup (looking to spend $150-$200) and the rest in tackle. Any suggestions on some tackle? I'm also fishing in stained and clear ponds.
  14. Have any of you guys had any luck at table rock? What's the biggest you've caught out of it? What bait did you use? I'm headed up there this weekend for the first time
