  1. I had the same experience. I ordered boca orange seals for my chronarchs used em for a while and eventually went back to the stock. The bocas are very noisy. Some people swear by them though. Don’t think it makes much of a difference. Maybe in 40-50 dollar reels I’m sure it would be an upgrade. But I can’t imagine changing the metanium bearings. They have to be top quality.
  2. So I bought a new curado k and noticed it would have a clicking sound twice every 1 rotation. I pulled it apart and noticed the top drag washer plate has a tiny bit of play around the reel shaft so as it turns it slides down and hits the shaft causing the click. I have like 4 or 5 other shimanos and never had this issue. Anyway to remedy this? Or should I just send it back. I’m assuming the hole in the plate was just cut too big by mistake. Thanks
  3. Awesome. I’ve always just used the bantam oil that comes with the Shimano reel on the bearings. Is this a no no? Can’t be that big of a deal I’ll check out the yellow rocket fuel. Thanks ! I looked it up online it’s 11.99 plus 15 dollars shipping !!!! What the hell?? Any box retailers carry it ? I’ll check eBay tonight.
  4. Sweet thanks
  5. Yes I’ve have boca before the orange seals a few years ago but didn’t notice much difference. Have they gotten better ?? Seems like the general consensus is that the curado K bearings are the best Shimano has ever used. Ill give them a look. Also would you switch the metanium bearings with the same thing as well??
  6. Nevermind! I found the answer in another post here. Any reason why the metanium bearing has a dark inner circle ? Never seen that before.
  7. I saw a generic bearing flushing video on YT where he removed the shields before the acetone. Do you need to do this with spool bearings? I can’t seem to find any retainer to remove them. These are stock metanium MGL and curado K bearings as well if it makes any difference. thanks!
  8. I did they are sending me a new one. Thanks !
  9. Yeah that's why I came here first. Any time I call tacklewarehouse they don't know crap about anything. Ima just keep it snd hope for the best. Thanks !!
  10. Just ordered a dobyns champion extreme from TH and when I opened it I noticed one of the smaller guides at the top of the rod was bent all the way down. I went ahead and rebent it to normal position but I just wanted to check and make sure this wouldn't weaken the guide. Maybe something I should worry about ? It has Fuji K series alkonite guides. Just worried about it breaking off and warranty maybe not covering it on such a pricey rod! thanks guys
  11. That's the same one I have although I'm trading it for the 7 foot fast MBR just because it's more versatile. Anyone on the fence about purchasing one just get it. It's worth every penny! Almost like another whole world of fishing That's the same one I have although I'm trading it for the 7 foot fast MBR just because it's more versatile. 12. I recently made a post asking you all to give me some suggestions on my first high end rod. (I've been using 60-100 dollar rods all my life). I ended up buying the Loomis NRX and it is SO much more sensitive than anything I have ever used it's almost like I have to relearn how to fish with a worm! I'm missing so many fish. Anybody else ever ever notice this ?
  13. No idea on prices yet ??
  14. d**n coulda sworn I just saw it on their site. Oh well
  15. I also really like Loomis "wild card" policy for their top tier rods. Apparently they will give you one replacement no matter what happens. Seems nice although I wonder if it's really that easy or if I'm missing some fine print restrictions.
  16. Interesting ... how's the warranty ??
  17. thank you ! I will tell tackletrap you all sent me
  18. Thanks guys. Can't wait to order Is that nrx or glx??
  19. Also you say crankbaits topwater jerkbaits can be fished on 100 dollar rods ? Then what's the top end recommended for ? I wanted top end for everything. And to last. Also I'm so glad you recommended tackle trap I see they have demo rods for 25 percent off !! Can't beat that deal. I will definitely be giving them a call. Thank you again.
  20. Thank you so much !
  21. Ok so I have 2 metaniums (6.3&7.2) and 1000 dollars to spend. I've been fishing with crappy casting rods all my life. I need help choosing 2 rods that will cover all of my bass fishing needs. I want either GLX or preferably NRX's and I already have a stradic ci4 paired with a dobyns champion extreme HP for finesse. Figured yall could help me out with 2 Loomis model numbers to make this ordering process easier. I'd prefer anywhere from 6'6-7'0 and throwing anything from small -medium cranks ,topwater, jerkbaits ,T-rig , jigs , small swimbaits, the usual. I hardly ever fish anything heavier than maybe a 3/4 ounce jig. Any help would be appreciated !!! Also I have a decent heavy rod for throwing frogs but it's not really a staple in my fishing so I'm not too worried about the heavier side. Hopefully this is in the right category. I'm pretty new to the high end gear so take it easy on me ? Thanks !
  22. I bought a new chronarch and I've noticed a little problem. Whenever I'm fishing light tackle like a work for instance, when I try to reel in slack in my line it has trouble keeping the line tight on the spool I've never had this issue with any other reel. Any ideas on how to correct it?????
