  1. I had one for 2 years. Well made except the rudder system has its issues. My clips in the pedals would often fall out due to design problems, and my friend had trouble with his rudder not deploying well. The only reason I sold mine is I am 6’-6” and could never get comfortable on any kayaks. I sold mine and bought a little Sun Dolphin Sportsman boat. Great room but still portable.
  2. Sounds like the Lord has blessings for you!
  3. Me, too. As soon as I got the Vibe home 2 years ago I was a little disappointed it wasn’t more comfortable. This little boat is pretty cool!
  4. Hopefully it’s not what I ran into with a used Pond Prowler I just bought and sold. The styrofoam was saturated, so it weighed about 200 pounds. I just sold it to a guy tonight because I don’t have time for another project.
  5. About a month ago I bought a new Sun Dolphin Sportsman, and I am very happy with it. I have my first 40 lb. trolling motor (Minn-Kota C2) that is good for it, and no longer is my butt going to sleep and my back doesn’t hurt! I just sold 2 kayaks because I am just too tall for them. My Sportsman is awesome. I honestly would like to have a one piece rotomolded Bass Hunter Bass Baby with the wheels in the back to make it easier to maneuver around boat docks, but they are twice the price of my Sun Dolphin. My advice is to check Craigslist for awesome deals - you might get something really cheap without shelling out maximum cash! Best of luck in your search.
  6. I may have my solution ready now - I have used a C-Tug cart with my kayak for a couple of years, so I cut a piece of plywood a little more than 4’ wide, cut strap holes in it, and ran a ratchet strap through it so it will hold well. That should work well for me.
  7. Thank you! Yeah, I’m going to ratchet strap it today. That’s what I am thinking, so I hope and pray I can get the guy to give my money back today. Sometimes I have to learn the hard way...
  8. I understand what you’re saying - but I had 4 of them plus 2 ropes tied on each side as well.
  9. Whew... this thing IS heavy. The foam in the pontoons may be saturated on one side, I’m afraid, after just watching a YouTube video of taking one apart because of saturated foam that weighed 100 pounds on each side. It seems only one side is that saturated, but goodness sakes - how long would that foam take to dry out?
  10. They’re in the truck. He painted them bright green so I plan to Krylon camo paint them.
  11. Just got back from talking to the guy about his old Pond Prowler, and he was super nice and very helpful. His Granddad bought this boat new 13 years ago for them to use on his pond, so they never titled it. It hasn’t been used much but has been sitting a long time with a small crack on the upper rim and a bump on the corner that you can see in the pictures in my truck - but he even had the cracked plastic pieces we can put back together, so that will make it easier. This thing was pretty heavy - we didn’t hear water sloshing around in it, but I wonder if it has water in it from a long time back. I need to turn it up and see what drains out. I’m praying it will be worth the $95 a friend and I put in it, but I think it will be. He signed a bill of sale with the info on it, but I doubt we'll ever try to title it. If we need to later on at least we can hassle with DNR with the info I have now. I’m headed out to eat tonight, so I will be rednecking it with a boat in the back of the truck tonight. ?‍♀️ ?
  12. Good deal. Thanks for your help! Looks like this one was made in 2006, so I better look it over good.
  13. I'm probably buying a Pond Prowler this afternoon from a local guy nearby, and I know the Hull ID Number on it, but can somebody point me to the information on how to find out when it was made, etc.? I'm not sure how to decipher the number itself, and this boat has apparently never been titled. I called DNR this morning, and it may be possible for us to register it for the first time if I get the Bill of Sale filled out correctly. I have a Sun Dolphin Sportsman that I know how to read, but I'm not sure about this Pond Prowler, and I sure will appreciate any information anybody can point me to. Thanks!
  14. I just looked over the SCDNR regulations, and it looks like you aren’t supposed to buy any boat that doesn’t have a current title. Surely that wouldn’t count for this boat we don’t intend to title.
  15. I just bought a new Sun Dolphin Sportsman that I have sent off to register - this one will sit in the shade at my friend’s pond. Looking forward to getting it but my garage is full!
  16. Exactly what I was thinking. No, looks don’t matter. Probably could find a green bucket, cut it up and use a small propane torch to apply it. In the meantime I could take a half roll of Gorilla tape to it!
  17. That’s what I thought. What’s the best long term fix on it?
  18. I have a 2017 Vibe Sea Ghost 110 that is very nice, but I’m selling it and an Eagle Talon because I am just too tall to be comfortable on them. Great kayaks, though.
  19. I’m hoping to talk to a guy tomorrow about an older Pond Prowler that has a busted up corner because of a loading accident. No title available but this will literally be a little pond hopper. Should be less than $100. Should I go to get it?
  20. True - I have 2 other really good ones I can check with.
  21. That would look nice! The HF is not completely accurate for sure, but it should get me off the water when I need to.
  22. Why spend MORE money on something that I have 5 of laying around? I’ve already blown all kinds of money on extras for this boat, and this multimeter should work fine for me. I don’t have a dash - this is attaching to my battery box. Plus my multimeter is an LCD readout that I can easily read in full sunlight.
  23. Thought so but I wanted to make sure. Thanks! It does but I have a separate battery (7 amp/hr) for it.
