  1. Well I got into bass fishing (well seriously at least) this past march when My wife and I bought our first bass boat. When we started we found the most success using GYB twin tail hula grub (in Blue Pearl Sv Flk) on a football jig. Then as the spring progressed I started finding success with the drop shot using either a roboworm (any color ending in shad) or a BioSpawn PlasmaTail (Green Pumpkin Plasma). I have also found a lot of success (including my PB) using a single tail grub ( I prefer either GYB or Kalin) in either rootbeer, green pumpkin or a white based color. So in no particular order GYB Twin Tail Hula Grub (Blue Pearl Sv Flk) Roboworm Biospawn PlasmaTail (Green Pumpkin Plasma) GYB/Kalin Single Tail Grub (4-5 in Bet you wish I just listed those to begin with haha
  2. I am like you, in the fact that I have just started using baitcasters. I dont have a number for you in terms of casts, but I will say I backlash every time I take my mind off of the cast.
  3. I must admit, I am greatly enjoying following these competitions you are having with your dad, I wish I could get my dad to go along with something like this, but he enjoys trolling more than bass fishing.
  4. I wish I understood fishing rods and reels more thoroughly when i started. This would have saved me some money as I have a few fishing rods and reels that are not what I want and I could have avoided buying them by doing some research.
  5. Caught this beautiful brown trout while drop shotting a tube
  6. Went out ocean fishing in Brookings Or for our anniversary. We caught some nice lingcods and a nice cabazon.
  7. Thanks for the advice, charging hasnt seemed to be an issue, but then again i havent been happy with the batteries in a while so that could have been caused by the charger... Once again thank you for the help
  8. I know there are quite a few posts on the forums about trolling motor batteries. I know this because I have read quite a few. My question is, is there a problem with using two different size batteries? Right now my trolling motor is running off a size 29 and a size 27 (the previous owner had it set up this way and I haven't changed it yet). I would love to run two 29 size batteries but there is not enough room for it. Now it is time to replace my batteries, should I keep the same set up, or switch to two size 27 batteries? As always, Thanks in advanced.
  9. well ill be happy to add 2 ounces on my catches

  12. We went out there tonight as well, but only for 30 mins to check out the ponds. We could not find the back two ponds. Are they only accessed by foot?
  13. Ill have to try them out... They are only 5 mins from my house
  14. Thanks for the reply... Starting to think this area wasnt well represented... Are those ponds easy to fish from the shore?
  15. Isnt your ONYX an auto inflator?
  16. Mine just arrived... The CO2 unit says to change it in 2021 so roughly 5 years is my guess
  17. 5 inch single tail grub on a 1/4 oz ball head jig. Craw colors in the spring and shad colors in the summer and fall. Probably caught 75% of my fish on this one bait
  18. I got them for 180 a piece and the shipping was minimal. I purchased them from Hodges Marine online. The shipping is taken a long time though, just an fyi. I dont have an answer for you on this one sorry.
  19. Anyone from the Redding area like to fish the ponds around here? Any good ponds that are open to the public? Or anyone have access to some private ponds? Just looking to fish some ponds in the evenings before work.
  20. The main selling point on the mustang for me was the tech that prevents the pfd from inflating until its under 4" of water
  21. Well i went ahead and bought the Mustang Survival for the wife and myself. Got a good deal on them ($70 off each one). Now I hope mine fits me. Did a quick measure and I should have 2 inches to spare haha. Thanks for the input and the shaming, looking at you Ajay .
  22. If you enjoy all kinds of fishing, then you should try the kokanee fishing on whiskeytown. Many people can limit out in an hour or two. Might be worth a shot.
  23. I'm a little sad at my two state list (California and Iowa). I guess i need to get out more and explore
  24. Well i have a week off coming up in September. First half of the week is going to be spent in Oregon fishing the coast for rock cod and ling cod. The second half of the week I want to take the wife to fish either Black Butte lake or Lake Britton (better yet, both). I was hoping someone has some info on how to approach either of these lakes. Thanks in advance.
