  1. Thanks guys! I've put alot of thought into this setup and I hope it lives up to my expectations
  2. Yeah, I've been saving for a couple months to really go overboard with something and I think this is it haha
  3. How's it going everyone. I've been fishing almost every day since I came home from school in mid may. I fished all last summer too and a little throughout the school year. Since returning home, however, I've decided that I need a little bit more sophisticated equipment to match my level of interest. I have a 7'0 Quantum spinning rod combo that I got to get into fishing which is actually a pretty decent loaner rod. My personal workhorse is a simple AG Orra Winch on a Gander Mtn Tourny rod. Its a decent little combo, or so i thought until I used my friends combos with a Quantum Smoke and Quantum EXO 100 PT (can't quite remember the rod, but they were both pretty good). He's been in the sport about as long as I have, but he's had the opportunity to fish throughout the whole year. All that aside, basically I just want to see what you guys think about the rod/ reel I'm looking at. For the rod, I really like the Dobyns 733c in 7'3, Med/heavy fast action for soft plastics and lighter lures. As for the reel, I really like what I see with the Quantum Tour MG and the Shimano Chronarch 150 Ci4. I plan on running either 14-12lb mono or 30lb braid with a fluorocarbon leader. Any of y'alls input would be apreciated as well. Thanks!
  4. Whats up everyone. I'm fishing all summer long near my family home in the Charlotte/Gastonia area, mainly ponds during the week and Lake Wylie/Norman/Mtn. Island on weekends. I'm just trying to figure out what everyone in the area has had luck on. I'm throwing plastics and square bill crankbaits in the ponds with decent luck, but I'm having trouble out on the lakes, especially Wylie and Norman as I haven't been to Mtn. Island yet. Any tips would be apreciated as I've been on and off in the hobby for about a year now. Thanks!
