Awesome to hear that! First time at Chabot I was with a bunch of friends and really didn't have that much time to focus on fishing, but I heard boating near the island can yield some good fish. Will definitely give that a try! Looking forward to fishing Lafeyette as well! Thanks tons for the tips

I live in Berkeley and am new to bass fishing! I tried lake Chabot and Temescal recently but haven't had too much luck. Been learning a lot online so I can get back out there and own them next time! Would love to learn more about bass fishing near sfbay since it seems like generally people aren't super positive about bass fishing in lakes/reservoirs around the area.

Hi guys, I bought a 6"6 Mh Spinning rod & reel set as my first rod - as I thought it'd be a good general purpose rod to start off with. I am considering buying a new baitcast setup in the near future, but am struggling a bit with the setup. Would appreciate any input! Here's my concern: I realized that a ml spinning reel setup for drop shots and other light setups + a mh baitcast setup for everything else with stronger lines and such may cover the most grounds - please correct me if I'm wrong. Now given that I alrady have a Mh spinning reel setup - is there a way I can select my second baitcast setup so I can cover the same grounds? Should I just get a ml for drop shot and finesse rigs? It seems like it won't be as optimal as the other way around. Fortunately I didn't buy a super expensive setup for my first rod - if any, I could sell it and buy a new setup?
