  1. No heavier than 40lb braid but 20-30 ideally and mh-h depending on where you are fishing the frog.
  2. Interesting, I’m gonna do some shopping today and see what I can find locally. I should of mentioned I like length between 6’9-6’11.
  3. Not my style, shorter than I want.
  4. I’m looking at a jerkbait rod. Needs to be a true medium with a fast action. I do not like the soft parabolic action of some of the rods out there. Here’s kinda my list: shimano expride 6’10 med/fast orochi jerkbait special m/f alpha angler slasher 6’10 m/f If I’m missing a rod that should be here please go ahead.
  5. I had the 7’1 model and it was a good frog rod admittedly. It would be a good dock rod like the 6’9 I have no doubt.
  6. It’s your reel, not your rod and honestly tossing a frog on 10lb mono is not advised. I would YouTube how to set up your scorpion dc reel and change the line if you’re looking for better distance. For a wacky senko, me 20-30lb braid or 12-14lb flouro. Mono, which I rarely use would need to be some that excels at casting like Sunline.
  7. It could be I'm fishing a lot of newer bodies of water to me. It's been an interesting start for me.
  8. Anyone else having a rough start to the season? I get one or two, but that’s it. Doesn’t help that I’m busting the bank. My biggest is 3.11 and that was opener on ‘Tonka.
  9. The two high end rods I have use were GLX 893, awesome sensitivity but was stiff and the reel seat was uncomfortable. The second is a Dobyns Xtasy 755, now this rod is awesome and I love it. The balance is perfect, reel seat is comfortable and I can fish it all day. There's a reason why the dobyns is still in my arsenal and the Loomis got the boot after 2 months of fishing it.
  10. T-Ring, weightless
  11. Caught 3 on Minnetonka, biggest was 3.11 on a senko. Bonus was a muskie trailing my spinnerbait back.
  12. Xtasy 755 and Steez SV
  13. MH or H Fast action, I would recommend 30-40lb braid. I threw a small booyah on 30lb braid paired with a H/F which worked good. If you're gonna go spinning route MH-H/Fast, those are options. What the deciding factor is cost and what you can afford.
  14. Three options that are not listed. Pitch Perfect Orochi XX 7'2, 7'6 Destroyer Valdivia USDM, XXX Orochi Destruction 7' XH JDM. All are solid options and probably better suited than the ones you're looking at.
  15. Abu Garcia Pro Max 7:1:1 RH
  16. Welcome to the forum.
  17. If you’re okay with, buy used. There are killer deals out there in the used market. If my budget was 100 or under- SLX, fury, Arid-X are the rods I would look at.
  18. How is everyone weathering the storm with the coronavirus crap? I am still working and planing on fishing during the weekends till season opens up. Hope your families are healthy and everyone is doing their part to stay vigilant during the quarantine and helping our neighbors if possible.
  19. If money were no object, a spruced up Zillion SV 100mm Hawgtech handle, super tuned, and boca bearings.
  20. Nice man! Looks like a fun day!
  21. FG or Blood knot. Only ever had one fail.
  22. The three stores I check out at the show Joes, Throne Bro’s, and Capras. All three are good deal with and will haggle to an extent.
  23. You’re welcome
