  1. +1 If I decide I want to fish a TW in a windy chop, the first lure I tie on is a 1/2oz Devil's Horse.
  2. You might ask Ranger. They built an I/O bass boat at one time. It didn't last very long........
  3. A very heavy boat that is extremely well built. Last time I checked, their dealer network was a bit small.
  4. I have a DualPro 3-bank model that is 10 years old, has run 24/7 since I brought the boat home(other than when I'm fishing), and has never skipped a beat. It's the only brand I'd even consider......
  5. Length of boat: If you're gonna be fishing tournaments on BIG waters I wouldn't go smaller than 20', although some 19's could work. Motor Brand: ya pays your money and ya takes yer choice. Personally, I'd put Merc at the bottom of my list, but that's MY choice. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. I agree with contacting someone on the pro staff of Bass Cat if that's what you're interested in. Many of them will make a deal where you can order THEIR boat in your choice of colors, etc with the idea that you will buy at the end of their season.
  6. As I understand it, Biffle was fishing on Barkley, not Kentucky. There isn't any "grace" area on Barkley like on Kentucky. On Ky, you can fish to the Hwy 79 bridge on a Ky license. Likewise, you can fish up to the Hwy 68 bridge in Kentucky on the east side and up to, but not including Blood River on the west side.
  7. I'd say two minutes.....tops 8-)
  8. will be held out of Paris Landing State Park Marina in Tennessee. Already scheduled for two consecutive years, '09 and '10. No dates set as of yet, but I assume that they'll be close to the same as this years.
  9. This year it's been the Red Eye Shad all the way!!!
  10. I have heard that repellent that uses DEET as an ingredient can actually repel fish. Keep it away from your lure just in case.
  11. I've posted this several times before, but here goes again...... I have a Dual Pro 3-bank in my boat that has been going 24/7 for TEN YEARS (other than time out when fishing) with no signs of quitting. If it ever does you can bet there will be another DP in it's place. However, as stated, they ain't cheap......around $385 I believe.
  12. This is just my opinion, ya understand, but unless I absolutely could not afford a new engine I don't think I'd consider a complete rebuild on a 24 year old engine.
  13. Without seeing it, I assume that it's simply spliced into the main power cable. Pressing on the switch completes the circuit, turning on the motor. At least that's how I wired in my foot switch way back when I had a hand control.
  14. My charger stays on 24/7/365. Once the batteries are charged it switches to trickle mode, only coming on if the battery charge warrants it.
  15. If I get out on the water and the graph shows fish suspended about halfway to the bottom and not much else.....it's gonna be a slow day.
  16. I'm fond of "Tangle Free". Comes in a small squeeze bottle. 2-3 drops per spool will do the job.
  17. I use co-polymer for all my fishing.
  18. I also have a Zell Rowland, Titanium topwater special. Perfect action for most topwater presentations. I also use a pistol grip 6' med older Bionic Blade IM6 rod. I have a Berkley Bionix 6' med action that I use if I'm throwing Spooks.
  19. I have an older AllStar Zell Rowland Top Water Special that I wouldn't take any money for. I use it for topwaters, some jerkbaits and an occasional small CB. It's caught a ton of fish for me.
  20. I believe you hit the nail on the head with the TD Light 'n Tough. Best bang for the buck rods out there IMO.(In that price range)
  21. Intruders are CARBED....... FICHTS are INJECTED.........
  22. By all means give the Mepps "Timber Doodle" a try
  23. Well, I'm not sure this will help you, but I had a '93 Grand Cherokee Laredo with the 318ci/auto. I towed a Ranger 360 and a TR20 around with it with absolutely no trouble whatsoever. It was one of the best tow vehicles I ever had. Made a few trips between Pa and Tn towing the boat (700 miles one way) and it never hiccupped. Had the factory towing package installed in it. The most amazing thing I noticed was that it would go up and down steep grades with the cruise control locked on and it never once needed to downshift!! Only reason I got rid of it was the wife wanted something new....
  24. Don't forget Bill Norman lures. Great lures at a great price.
  25. Absolutamundo!!!!!! 8-)
