  1. ^^^ This I do agree with. Jury is still out on my casting equipment.
  2. Just when I think i have one part of fishing figured out ..... Dang It. Nice write up ..... Thanks Tom.
  3. I hope I am not hijacking the OP's thread but i have a scenario I believe relates to the original question: If a group of Largemouth are feeding heavily on Crayfish and you have all the terminal tackle at your disposal but only one of the following baits; 5" Senko - Black w/ Blue Flake 5" Senko - Green Pumpkin w/ Black Flake Swing Impact Fat 3.8 - Shad Pattern Swing Impact Fat 4.3 - Blue Gill Pattern Rage Craw - Pink Which one do you choose?
  4. This thread reminds me of my Split Tail Sluggo days .... Do they still make them?
  5. X2 ... gaining steam in my arsenal as well.
  6. In New Brunswick, lakes do not open until May 1st ..... The scheduled Tournament I spoke of above is in Maine. Most Hard Core Landlock Salmon and Speckled Trout Fisherman in my area hope the ice stays in until April 30th to keep the Rainbow Smelt from spawning early. The smelt will spawn as soon as the ice goes and the Salmon, Trout and Bass follow them to the creeks. It is the best (easiest) 5-6 days of fishing and "ALL" the big girls will be present. Now I am starting to ramble ......
  7. I hear that ... We have our first tournament of the year scheduled for April 22nd. Can't pre-fish this weekend .... still iced over.
  8. Warnings to the snow gods .... lol Snowman sacrifice.
  9. A-Jay ..... I see your warnings fell on deaf ears.
  10. Yup .... This ^^^^^ That is why I asked if you were straight reeling ..... A fluke is a soft "Jerk Bait".
  11. That is how it is done. Great Fish!.....
  12. Fishing with a buddy two years ago. He makes a cast with a spinning rod and the line wraps his finger so he let go of the rod and in the drink it went .... 15 ft deep. Could not get it back. That afternoon we stopped at a second lake. After catching a few fish, we take-off to try another spot. My buddy doesn't strap his rod down and away goes pole number two into the drink .... 30 ft deep. Recovery fails again. Needless to say, it was a sad day for him and one of the funniest days of my life. I wish i was making this up.
  13. Hello and Welcome from New Brunswick, Canada.
  14. Are you trying to cast and straight reel the Super Fluke back to yourself?
  15. If your not busting up the odd crank bait when fishing cover, your not trying hard enough .....
  16. My brothers don't call it borrowing because that implies that i am getting my stuff back.
  17. We lost WFN as well. Thank you for the reply ..... I think MOTV solves my Winter Blues.
  18. I'm not .... think i would have preferred Tampa. GO LEAFS
  19. No Outdoor Network in my "Neck of the Woods".
  20. This has peeked my interest .... do you select a certain number of shows? How does it work?
  21. @Swbass15 If you think your input doesn't matter, I tournament fish with my older brother ..... need i say more? PS: I am 50.
  22. Bass have falling victim to every color and every hue of soft plastics ever created. However, starting colors for soft plastics are as follows: Black w/ Blue Flake Green Pumpkin w/ Black Flake Watermelon w/ Red Flake From here, your collection of soft plastic colors will grow immensely over your bass fishing career. As for Hard Bait colors: Shad Blue Gill Crawfish (Brown/Red) Again, starting point. I hope this helps and welcome to the passion.
  23. Although I do fish Keitech baits, a 5" Swim Senko should be considered as well ..... Green Pumpkin w/ Black Flake
