Thank you for the reply.
Yes i have tied a few and do use them.
I guess "stout" was probably the wrong choice of word but i am trying to find a good quality painted jig hook with a slightly larger hook than what i believe is 1/0. I understand that most are a light wire hook but i was hoping to find something a bit stronger. Maybe a jig with an Owner or Gamakatsu hook would solve my problem. The hook in the jigs i have are terrible.
Good day to all,
I have done some internal reading but cannot seem to find a good answer so here is my question(s);
who makes a high quality jig head with an oversized (not sure of exact size) stout hook (doesn't bend easily) in the 1/16 to 1/8 oz.?
do they also make football jigs for larger 1/4 -1/2oz. hair jig styles.
Sorry if this has been asked numerous times and i just can't seem to find it.
Thank you.
If you are going to fish hard baits, read Paul's post ..... read again, read again, read again.
Straight reeling a hard bait in shallow to mid-range open water more often than not will be unsuccessful .... IMHO.
I will walk the line (braid, Fluoro or mono) off the spool and reel it back in to reduce line twist (actually quite often) .... i do not stretch it though. I also use line conditioner.
Gentleman,
Thank you very much for your insight .... it all makes perfect sense.
Catt, thank you for making this dim light brighter, "The Bite Moves ... The Fish Don't"!
Yes .... it is cast aluminum.
We took extreme caution not to overheat the seals.
Now I have to decide where to cut the bottom tip off.
Thanks again for the advice .... greatly appreciated.
Thanks Toxic .... I did review that option.
I have a steel fabrication division in my shop so getting it fixed is the easy part. I just want to make sure i have the dimensions correct.
