My lakes are heavy populated with big bass...I live in Texas...fishing is superb here. Catching them is the easy part...knowing you have the right tackle is what really disturbs me. We stock trout around d here but only for kid derbys and of course...to feed our big bass. Sorry...but if you're not in Texas...you should know it's pretty hard to compare a trout to these monsters....sorry...but I went there.

It feels really good to spool your reels with some brand new line...might have filled her up a little too much...oh well

What about a shaky head hook with a cut down senko on it texposed, would it be a shaky ned? Or just weedless ned rig?

Came home today, my girlfriend and daughter had a present for me. She didn't want to be in the picture, but that's my PB, only 4.26 lbs but she was proud of it and so am I. I love my girls!!!

@A-Jay No its a structure bug, wish I had plastics like that available to me but academy only has so much...would hate to waste 7 bucks on shipping for 1 thing of plastics @fishballer06 I wish I could get one to choke on it, I think it has to do something with my hookset, I keep sweeping/cracking it to the side and all my hooksets end up in the corner of their jaw...when I hold the rod to the side and low I can keep better tension and feel more than I do holding it straight out, any tips guys?

Thanks everyone for all of the information, it really helped me understand d where to look more, hopefully I can catch a big mama and as directed from here I will promptly release her, does this mean I can't take a weight? Or is that too much time from the water?

Is there any tale tell signs to finding a bed if you can't actually see into the water and bank fishing? I want to fish beds...I just have no clue how to locate them because I can only see 3-4 feet down from the shores...or are beds everywhere and anywhere?

My mind just got blown...so there's more than LMB SMB and RB?! Can anyone post some more pics of these "Shoalies and Mean Mouths"??? I don't understand...

I used it on an ugly Stik gx2, I upgraded shortly after to a daiwa because I noticed I needed a new rod all together. But if you put the wrap on right, it's awesome dude...I like mine a lot.

Went to academy tonight and the stocker pointed out a display he just put up, said the store isn't going to carry them and got what they got so that I probably won't see them anymore...with the bait monkey on my back..and the closest BPS an hour away..I had to induldge. Got some 7.5 Yum Genies in Old School Purple, 5 inch Yum Pulse swimbaits in pearl, and the others are there all the time, black and blue rage structure bugs (thought I was getting rage craw but messed up...hope they work just as good hopping as the craws, maybe someone can speak on this? But I see them being used primarily for punching and flipping.) And 12 lb test invisx that I won't get to try out until later in spring when my sunline runs out!!! Any tips/advice/opinions on these baits and choices of line? Oh and also a Nike drifit shirt!! Man those things are soft and really keep the sweat off you!!! Looking at the pic....I REALLY want to unstring my reel and throw that seaguar on there.....ALSO he had some new hack attack spinners out there and some popping perch from SK as well...probably 8 different colors? Lol then I saw SK was advertising a buzz frog, like we can't just take our old buzz baits and throw a Ribbit on there!!

I have some red eye shads...xcaliburs...and rapala Rippin Raps...but nothing beats the old school ratltrap!!!

@NCbassraider Had a 1.16 Slab the other day...ccut him up...sseasoned him with garlic salt, onion powder, and a sprinkle of habanero powder. Wrapped it in some foil and through a slice of lime in there. Mmmmm mmmmm good!!!! Don't forget to soak the meat in milk though!! Unless you like to fry fish!! Of that's the case you'd be better off buying catfish 2$/1lb from HEB!!

I was just throwing a bitsy jig and cranked in a 4 lb LM. Probably the first fish I've actually reeled out the slack and cracked back on, it felt so good...off topic I know but just giving yall an update on Lake Polk here in Texas!!
