  1. Has a anyone tried out the new Sufix advance mono? I bought spool of 10 lbs to try on some finesse.
  2. Ah, that would explain it. I knew it was simple. Thanks.
  3. This maybe a silly question, but I bought dual hooks for a toad presentation. At home I realized they do not have a screw lock for the plastic trailer. What did I buy? Do I need to buy screw locks to add? I figured they came with them or is there some other rig that I am unaware of?
  4. Pegging does solve this issue. Sounds like I should just change out my weight and be careful. Suppose I should pony up for tungsten, but I have lead ready to go that's caught bass just fine. I'm not on the tournament trail and just a weekend warrior. I'll upgrade in the future when needed. Thanks for input!
  5. I fish braid on my spinners and have a FC leader for my Texas rig presentation. I've noticed micro dentations on my leader from my slip sinker. Fearing a loss of a fish do to line breakage, I'm thinking of changing my set up. I'm using an old school slip lead weight. I was thinking putting a bobber stopper on it to stop the wear, but that of course changes the technique. Would switching to a tungsten weight be easier on my leader besides its other benefits? Or do I just feel my leader every so often or a catch?
  6. I did well on the Zoom lizard last year. Plan on throwing it again this year! Had fun with the old Jitterbug as well.
  7. I wear my leather fingerless riding gloves for my Harley which I've found work well in 30's temps. Although my hands don't seem to get wet and the leather probably wouldn't work for you then.
  8. Hmm, I'd want to switch the reels around and have the faster reel on the med. heavy rod and the 6.3.1 on the medium for cranks.
  9. Caught a nice one last night on the old Texas Rig with a Zoom lizard and a few dinks with a shaky head. Haven't gone to the Ned yet. I like to drop shot when over the top of them when a little deeper as well.
  10. Johnson silver minnow with an Uncle Josh pork rind trailer and sometimes a Jitterbug. Fun at night over weed beds.
  11. Send a drop shot down and see what happens.
  12. My buddy lost a rod without a bite, but on his cast. He forgot to oepn the bail and some how it came out of his hand. I was up front and turned around to see him bent over with his arm in the water reaching around franticly. Unfortunately it was gone. I didn't know what to say. lol
  13. I was just designing a spooling tool to hold both spinner and bait caster spools all in one package. Mono and braid are straight forward, but I was wondering how flourocarbon comes into the mix with both spinning and bait casting reels? Do I just fill my reels per each requirements with fluoro? Any quirks?
  14. I agree with you Tom. I have a power issue. I will pursue this angle. Thanks for the help!
  15. One more question. RMPs weren't an issue as I made sure once changing and saw better performance. So now I'm leaning to more motor performance or other issues as posted. My question is what is the performance difference with a 3 blade to the 4 in same pitch? Better hole shot with the 3, but over all speed with the 4 blade?
  16. Ok, thanks for all the great advise. I'll check it out first before going to the foil.
  17. Boat length is 18.5. I changed props from a 24p to a 19p, which helped, but still lags. I figured a hydrofoil would do it. Faster and cheaper than taking it to a shop was my thinking.
  18. Yes, a manual one. Previous owner said he had it set optimal. Lifting it would be a b*tch
  19. My 97 Rajun Cajun.
  20. I have 97 Rajun Cajun with a 150 edi that has a planing issue. I changed the prop which has helped, but still experience trouble planing out. Thinking of a hydrofoil. Any suggestions?
  21. Thanks for the input guys.
  22. This I'm sure has been covered before, but I am looking for grease suggestions to keep my father's reel going not to mention my own. Can I find reel grease at my local Wal-Mart or my local hardware store? Is there a brand I should seek out?
