  1. Using a palomar and it seems to break right above the lure or some where between the lure and the rod tip. I did notice some fray *** feet above the lure. I was pitching into wooded stuff but I'll throw frogs all day long into wooded stuff and it never frays that easy. I didn't notice any Fraying past 4 feet from the lure. It is sheering off right at the beginning of the cast right when I'm about to release my thumb.
  2. Yes I use backing and it was on tight. It just gives right when I cast it it just snaps but there is no loud noise its like somone just cuts it. Its not the knot slipping either I can see the break in the line. The fluoro did fine when I used it could cast all day long. So weird. Could it be bad power pro? Its new as of this year though... the reel and rod are new as of this year too
  3. Today I was using a Texas rig with 30lb power pro(Daiwa tatula/blackout MH rod). 3/8oz bullet weight with a 3/0 VMC hook. I could pitch fine and light cast fine but every time when I wanted to get s little distance on a cast and gave it a little more the line would break in air right when I let go of the spool and send the bait flying straight ahead. Happens end to me 5 times today. Switched to a diff rod with 15lb Fluoro and no problem since.... any suggestion? thanks!
  4. Im looking for a decent baitcasting rod that is medium with a fast action. I dont want a moderate action and ever medium i find is moderate, perferably 7 feet in length. Any suggestions out there in the 80-100 price range? Gonna use it for jerkbaits and top water with mono line. Thanks all LEWITH
  5. Sick of only being able to use my soft plastics on 1 or 2 fish before they rip up and need to be replaced. What brand do you guys like that are durable and still catch fish? Thanks! -the LEW
  6. If I had to use one line I would pick 15# fluorocarbon.
  7. I own a Tatula Ct and a regular Tatula both are great reels and I plan on getting more. Definitely check them out. Daiwa is one of the top reel manufacturers along with Shimano IMO!
  8. What about on week days?
  9. Thanks guys, I appreciate the responses!
  10. Hey guys recently moved to the east metro by Woodbury Minnesota. I'm looking for a decent lake to fish bass from a boat. I've tried demontreville and Jane and had mediocre luck. Any recommendations would be welcome thanks! Trying to keep it within say a 30-40 min drive from Woodbury, closer the better. Thank you. Lew
  11. Fluoro/mono I use a trilene knot and it has never really failed. For braid it's always a palomar.
  12. Yes the Tatula is a workhorse and is an excellent reel all I can think is that it could be a bad batch. Daiwa makes a excellent product and they stand behind it. Send Daiwa an email and explain the issue they will help.
  13. Without the tension knob it's probably a loose spool swaying side to side on the retrieve and cast creating a knocking noise? It also wouldn't help to relube it.
  14. 95% of the time I throw spros, but I like boo yah pad crashes and koppers as well.
  15. Buy a Diawa Tatula you can find them for 100-120 dollars.
  16. Abu Garcia Black Max or Daiwa Laguna
  17. can you use this flipping braid without a fluoro leader? or still suggest putting on the leader?
  18. It's a regular Tatula but brand new so I assume they put the new tws on it?
  19. I'll have to watch it it's not a huge amount of pressure but you can definitely see the angle. I also took out my lews that is filled probably 1/16th from the edge and that actually has more Rub going on than my Tatula so maybe all reels do it just more noticeable in the tatula.
  20. What weight would you say is a good all around t-rig and jig weight? I don't know what weights to use when? I have 1/4 oz, 3/8 oz, and 1/2 oz but I'm just clueless really when to use what weight... Any help is much appreciated!
  21. So I just recently bought a Regular Tatula. I filled the line full on the spool and noticed a line rub on the T Wing when reeling in, it pushes the line down slightly and there's rubbing of the line on the backside (top wide part of the T Wing). To eliminate the rub I'd have to probably fill 1/8th from the edge of the spool. Do you guys think this is a non issue or should I take line off? Thanks Lew
  22. The people that are ticked at anyone on YouTube are just jealous of them. Deep down inside they wish they could get paid to fish and make videos but they lack drive and are probably scared to even attempt. Plain and simple no ones forcing you to watch so don't watch if you don't like them... Move on sallies.
  23. No haha... Just never realized it before
  24. Just bought a Daiwa tatula ct and noticed when I back out the tension knob there is some play side to side in the spool. When I tighten down the tension knob this goes away is this normal? thanks!
