I’m looking at the Daiwa Legalis 2500 or 3000 but I want a wider spool. Would the 3000 have a wider spool or just a deeper spool? I’ve heard a lot of positives about wider spooked spinning reels. Looking to stay with Daiwa if you have another reel that you know is a wider spool.
Thanks!
Correct, the rod is nice but i use braid mainline with fluoro leader and it just doesnt work well with the tiny guides. I might still use it with a all fluoro spool.
Yeah I saw that, I'm actually not a fan of microguides on spinning rods atleast in my phenix as it deflects my leader knot on every guide. This makes it hard for me to cast distance wise and accurately so the bigger guides are a plus for me atleast. Appreciate the input though!
Hey guys I'm looking at getting a Dobyns Sierra spinning rod for 1/4oz- 3/8oz drop shot and 1/8oz - 1/4oz jigworm/shaky head applications. I will be running 8lb flouro leader to 15lb braid and will be fishing weedlines and in weeds more often than just straight open water. I don't know which one to pick either the SA 702SF (medium/light) or the SA 703SF (medium). I know depending on the manufacturer a rod can be more of less of that rating. Which one do you guys suggest for this application?
Thanks!
Looking to buy a Diawa Legalis LT with my 7’1” medium spinning rod. I’ll be using it for jigworm and dropshot primarily with s little wacky rig. What size do you recommend 2500 or 3000?
thanks

Looking for a spinning rod 100-150 dollars. I need it to be light and sensitive and around 7’. I am looking at the Phenix Feather 7’1” medium for shaky head and dropshot. Anyone tried this rod or have another rod in that price range that would work well?
thanks!
Hey guys, I'm currently using a No. 8 fishing tackle MH Fast 7' rod for chatterbaits but they seem to spit the hook often and I'm wondering if it is because of the fast action. Would you guys suggest a mod fast action rod instead? If so what one around $100-$150 would you recommend?
Thanks,
Lew
I'm looking for a pitching reel mainly for 3/8 and 1/2 oz jigs. I want to put 20lb seaguar fluoro on this reel but im worried I wont be able to put much line on this reel since the spool is so shallow? Ill mainly be making pitches but everyonce inawhile I would like to make casts with it to reach just a little further. Do you guys think this reel will work with 20lb fluoro or no?
Thanks

Hey guys, Im looking for paddle tail swim baits in the 4" range for trailers for swim jigs and chatterbaits. I would like to get keitechs but they are awfully expensive so I am looking for a cheaper alternative. What are your guys suggestions to get in the cheaper price range?
thanks!

What size chatterbait do the pros mostly throw? I keep seeing 1/2oz cause it can be fished shallow or deep with relative ease. I just want to buy one size so I dont have to mess with all kinds of weights if I can get away with it. What are your guys opinions on this?
Thanks!

Hey guys ive never boat a boat before and I have found a used bass boat from a private seller in my price range. It is still to cold to go out for a trail run up here as most lakes are still locked up with ice. Should I ask the seller if I pay to have it brought to a local boat mechanic to have it surveyed? What else should I know when buying a used boat? I don't wanna get screwed over in the deal...
Thanks!

Hey guys, I have a Abu Garcia Black Max that just sits around its a 6.4:1 ratio. I was curious if that ratio would be ok for deep cranking prob in the 15-25 ft depth range. It would be used exclusively for cranking with a MH crank rod. I dont crank much so i wanted to use a reel I already have to save money. Or should I look to get a slower 5 speed reel?
Thanks
