  1. I have been pouring plastic for a couple years and it seems that more and more sites (bears baits, bass tackle, Bob's, Delmart...) are selling injection molds. I do not have any exp with these. Can you buy an injector from any site and use on your molds, or do you have to get it from the same site as where you bought your mold from? There are several new molds that I like but I cannot decide if I want to change over to injecting. Also, will injecting work for my current 2 piece top pour molds? Thanks for your input.
  2. Were you able to get this to work? I'm interested in possibly trying to make my own too.
  3. I have done this multiple times. I will look for people selling tackle boxes and stuff and buy the box cheap just to get the plastics to re-melt. I also save any plastics that tear when I fish and reuse them.
  4. I currently have Daiwa Light & Tough rods and Team Daiwa-S series rods and thinking about getting a few new ones. I'm looking to buy either Carrot e21 Stix or Abu Garcia Veritas. Please give me your advice, opinions, pros and cons of each. Thanks
  5. I've been a member on this site for a few years but haven't posted in quite some time, so I figured I would re-introduce myself. Steve from Fort Wayne, IN. My passions are basketball, bass fishing, NASCAR, and working with computers. I work in I.T. for a university. I discovered this site a few years ago because I wanted to get into pouring my own plastics. This has been a great site full of information! In the past, I spent 1 year tournament fishing here in IN. Life is very busy for me now, but is a goal of mine to return to it. Thanks
  6. I will definitely check that out...thanks
  7. Anyone know where I can find a mold that closely resembles this craw that Zoom makes? Thanks
  8. I poured it with floating plastic as well as regular plastic.
  9. That's a great idea Hawk if you want to submerge it some around the lilly pads instead of floating it.
  10. Just an update...Wanted to show some pics of them floating in the sink. They are 3.5 inches long so I have to use a smaller 3/o hook. I just threw a keeper hook on them.
  11. I have a toad mold that I posted in a previous post that I had trouble pouring the legs, so I improvised with this.
  12. I tried to make a "spro" and I want your opinions about it. Go ahead and critique it...This is the 1st attempt and I know I have a few things I want to change, but I would like to hear from you guys as well. It does float as well. Thanks Sorry, the pic isn't the greatest. Hard to get a close-up.
  13. I was just thinking this morning that I could possibly make my own version of a "spro" frog with this since I can't get it to work. Where the plastic stops, I could insert skirt colors or something so it mimics a "spro". Sound like a good idea?
  14. Hey guys...just wondering if anyone has some old or extra aluminum molds that they don't need or use much anymore? I'm wanting to get some possibly. I have 2 5inch stick molds and my toad mold that's 3 1/2 inches. Just reply with what it is and/or size or pic too if you want...private message or re-post. Thanks!
  15. I tried to make just some straight-line air vents from the legs to the holes already on the mold, and it didn't help any...so bummed...lol
