  1. The sufferings some of us go through! ;D
  2. Well as many of you know, we got the first cold front of the season (errr, what we Floridians call a cold front) over the weekend. I was already assuming the worst, no power fishing just slow patterns. Boy, was I wrong. Sunday was just as good except I lost what could of been my Largemouth PB. It looked at least 6+ but on it's jump, I lost it Saturday 6-9:30am (8 fish, including two 5+ pigs, the rest 1-3lb and lost 2) Sunday 6-9am (5 fish, ranging 1-4lbs) Here are some of them including the two pigs from Saturday: 5-10lb Largemouth- Gambler 10" Ribbon Tail Worm (Florida Five-O) 5lb Peacock - X Rap (Purple Shad) I believe a PB 3lb Largemouth - Booyah Buzzbait (Chartreuse w/Black specs)
  3. I have never caught a Peacock on anything SLOW. It must be fast and erratic. They just didn't like the lures that day or passed by me when they were done feeding.
  4. Can't say that I use them alone, but have had good success using them as a trailer.
  5. Yup, ordered two swimblades and got 4 packages for free. Price adjusted after order is placed. Thanks for posting the sale, although my wife isn't happy!!
  6. I can attest to that, its tuff! I've caught a few decent LM (1-3#) but Peacocks are just following the lure. My luck with Peacocks are: XRaps, RatLTraps, Spro Frogs and Topwater plugs.
  7. Congrats on your PB!
  8. Nice Betsy, nice... Congrats on the PB!
  9. I have seen this once or twice in regards to Largemouth, but see this almost always I go out with Peacocks... However the last two months or so, I'm seeing more younger packs (sub 1'lbers) than bigger/older Peacocks; post spawn I reckon.
  10. Nice bass. Did you guys try any plastics/hard baits while you were out?
  11. Congrats on the new PB... I'm also trying to learn the ways of the jig, but as you mentioned it takes patience which I don't have.
  12. Nice Red! What bait were you using?
  13. Indeed a very funny circumstance... I can just picture the Heron flying away with your friends screaming...
  14. Thanks for the quick response Bass Mekanik. I will definately have to test out live bait for the beloved Peacocks.. I actually caught a Tilapia on an Xrap and as I was bringing it in, a hefty 7+ (an assumption, but I've seen plenty 5-6# and it looked bigger than that) Peacock bit half of it off. Ended up with my Xrap and a Tilapia head. It was a few years ago but will never forget it; I've seen this countless times in saltwater but never in a freshwater environment. Thanks again for the tips...
  15. I'm curious as I have never fished with live bait (freshwater). What are you using to catch the baitfish? Are you netting or fishing for them?
