  1. Strike King KVD 1.5 silent squarebill in gizzard shad or sexy shad. I have caught hundreds of bass on both colors, I couldn't just leave 1 color in this list!
  2. Im not sure about Florida but here in the North West, mid day is time for a drop-shot or a light jig head. On the drop shot, im sure yall have a lot of grass, get some of the gamakatsu glock hooks in 1/0 and t-rig anything lol and for the light jig I have always use the 4" GYCM curly tail grubs on a 1/8-1/4 jig head. Ill often drag a 1/8oz power worm too. I have never put line over 8lb on a spinning rod before... I like to run 10-15lb braid with a fluro leader... or straight braid if the water is dirty.
  3. I think this will be the new one to catch on among us: Avocadoed it!
  4. This past weekend, on the Snake River in WA, I was 6 for 6 and then got hung. Broke my line. Re-tied and proceeded to go 4-4 before I didnt catch one. I count it as 10-10 LOL BTW the Vibragrub on a drop shot is DEADLY for smallies! I recommend everyone try them out!
  5. 1st for P-Line TCB! I have been using it for a while after switching from Stren 832, which I never had a probelm with. Just wanted to try something different. I have never used braid under 30lb though, so there is that! I mean, it doesnt turn "white" very fast, Ive never had a problem with back lashing or fraying, and Ive never had a fish, besides a northern or musky, bite/break my line...
  6. I was gonna say try a plastic frog, Im not sure about a full 2 mississippi of a delay but definitely let the fish take the frog. Also, as mentioned, punch the algae. If they are hitting a frog through the stuff, imagine them having a meal in front of their face! Try something super streamlined like a beaver or even a 7"-9"power worm if you're bringing up too much nastiness.
  7. haha well that is a win, win then! They are fun to snag, one time I was throwing a s-waver for pike, thought I hooked a nice pike. Turns out I snagged a 15lb carp! I just cant seem to catch bass if the carp are there. I have a couple "honey holes" that Ill roll up to, carp are there, not catch anything besides a pike minnow. Come back a hour later, carp are gone, and catch fish. It makes no sense to me.
  8. Every time I am bass fishing; when the carp show up, bass are gone. Do the carp beat up the bass or what? I know the carp eat bass eggs but Im talking post spawn, late summer. I mean carp are fun to catch and all but Im trying to get a big blow up on a frog not watch 5 million sucker mouths eat every piece of floating grass lol does anyone else have a problem with this?
  9. Read this forum, there is a lot of information in here.
  10. That is strange, I haven't used them on the actual keitech swim jig but I use them on the dirty digs 3/8-1/2oz swimjig and it fits perfectly... are those swim jigs screw lock?
  11. At least $150/month on gas and replacing lures. I lose a lot of crankbaits to musky and pike sadly. Good thing Im not married or have kids so I can spend as much money on fishing, traveling, and beer as I want!
  12. My advice for southern Oregon is to stop bass fishing, go to the coast and fish for salmon lol Im not quite sure what a fountain is but everything else sounds like a fun place to fish. My personal go-to when times get tough, 3/8 oz finess jig with a baby rage craw trailer. Also, X2 on the senkos but if there is a lot of grass I would fish it weightless and t-rigged. With both of these lures, as said above, slow. The slow fall on the jig with the little craw claws flapping drives bass crazy when nothing else will! Also, as for your line, just run the 15lb straight. No need for a leader is the water isnt that clear. Its just another point for your line to fail.
  13. Match the hatch, what ever color is closer to your trout in your particular area.
  14. If I had to pick one lure... Acme Kastmaster Spoon in 1/4oz. Ive caught everything under the sun on those here in the North West!
  15. They are relatively common in the Snake River and Columbia. I fish the snake for catfish and salmon, figured I should start targeting the real river monsters! Ive seen a lot of 6+ pulled out of bank spots that I know.
  16. I had a duck drive under water, swim 15 yards and eat my medium diver. I didnt realize ducks ate fish! I would freak out if i hooked into a bird with a sharp beak and talons lol dive*
  17. DM me if you make it this way! im always down
  18. why dont you just navionics?
  19. That sounds like so much fun! I went to cabelas over the weekend and had absolutley no luck with anything I needed there. Although the Penn Squall level wind reel was calling my name.
  20. I just need the reel to hold about 300-350 yards of 50lb braid. Its hard to find anything useful about cheaper reels when all the forums Im reading are with people fishing from boats. How big do they get in that river?
  21. I remember the first bass that had me fall in love. I was probably 6 or 7. After my parents split my dad lived in the lake house we had on the Tennessee river. I already had a little spinning rod and my own tackle box so I would stop raiding my dads box lol but he bought me these zoom finesse worms in white with black flake. I remember those like it was yesterday. I was fishing off the dock by an old concrete dock that had fallen into the water. I will never forget seeing that bass swim out from under the shade and grab my worm! I was so excited I ran that bass all the way back to my dads house to show him. He took a picture of me and told me to return it. That picture is still on the wall to this day!
  22. i thought it was a small salmon until I saw how big it was in your hands. Its definitely a young lake trout, if it was a brook it would have red spots and the tail wouldnt be as forked. it honestly looks like a brook/lake trout hybrid lol i didnt know that existed but apparently it does.
  23. I am looking into buying a reel that would support sturgeon fishing that isnt going to break the bank and be a good beginners reel. I have read that a lot of guys use the Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 7000 series or the Penn 320 which both are in my price range. Any input??? Does anyone here sturgeon fish? I live in eastern Washington and will be going to the Snake River and the Columbia to fish.
  24. I was on the front of a little jon boat and my buddy was controlling the trolling motor at the back of the boat. We were going forward and he meant to put the motor in neutral but missed it and went into reverse. It threw my weight towards the front of the boat and out I went lol luckily the water wasnt too cold and we were only 200 yards from the launch.
