  1. That Schumacher should be OK to charge at 10 amps when your using the boat every few days and if it sets for weeks or more I would leave it the 2amp.
  2. It really depends on the charger. Is it going to step down when the batteries are at a set point or is it going to shut off. How long are you letting the batteries set before using. What kind of charger is it?
  3. Are there two or four wires run to the front plug?
  4. How about what year and make of boat is it?
  5. If you really don't want the weight in the boat and you don't mind hooking it up all the time then go for it. You can also just get some connectors that you could attach and leave them on the batteries and extend them so you can just plug the banks into the connectors on the batteries as long as they are not to far away from the charger when plugged in. Good luck.
  6. Tinned is not needed at all if not in salt water. How much wire are you needing?
  7. You know you could contact customer service at Bass Cat and they might send you a complete diagram for that boat. Good luck.
  8. If you have a local battery company you might want to go make friends with them and see how they treat you and if your not happy with them then alot of anglers go to Wal Mart just because of the warranty you get so check them both out and make your choice from that. These boards you can get what works for one but not another and it can get real testy about how others see what batteries are best so if you support your local guys you might find out what works best for you. Good luck.
  9. That will work,,,,,good luck
  10. So you are going to hard wire the motor direct? You are using the switch for? Some of the big boat manufactures are just hard wiring the motor now at the factory and not using any switch. It is a good idea to use the switch just to protect the motor when charging.
  11. Are you getting rid of the plug in? But the switch will work just fine.
  12. That is correct diagram you needed. Jones diagrams are really good. You need to do it just like it is on that page. Good job man you did it before I could verify. I am old though. Good luck. ;D ;D ;D
  13. I am not positive about that motor but do not ground it to the boat by no means.. It more then likely goes to the positive of one of the trolling batteries to give you 12 volts and the red run gives you 24 volts.
  14. What order are you talking about?
  15. First thing is to open the connecter on the trolling motor and make sure the jumper is in the connecter from one of the neg to one of the pos. Does the boat or the trolling motor have a 12/24 switch on it? What year is the boat?
  16. Are looking at brand new? What kind of money are you looking to put out?
  17. You can charge them the same way if that is how you are using them. Most will tell you that you have use the same size and make but if you are going to just use them up until there done then just do it the way you said you were.
  18. Just got off the phone with her and that is what they have already. Says it really does well too. Her wiring problems sound like the solenoid is bad, She knew what she was talking about.
  19. What is a resevoir rig? If you are powering a 48 volt motor then this is a easy process. You have the positive of the outside battery going to the pos of whatever you are powering and the other outside battery would have the neg going to whatever you are powering then you have the two batteries in the middle and hook them together pos to neg with jumpers. If you would like you can call me and we can walk through it. 612-590-5833
  20. What are you hooking the 48 volts too? I can help if I know what you are doing.
  21. Wow I agree on that, That boat is a perfect starter boat. Put some money in the motor and you will get alot of fun out of it. Keep it
  22. Wow it sounds like you are going to have a ton of fun and no cost to keep up. Those things are great. Lets see those photos.. Good luck
  23. You can contact me direct and I will call you and walk you through the best way to go if you want. It will be a simple hook up.
