  1. As far as lake or river/stream I’ll be fishing both.
  2. Good afternoon, I’m getting back into fishing and want to start fishing for trout with a spinning reel. I have a couple of questions; What size reel? I have a 200 size pair with a medium moderate rod. What lb test and type of line? Finally, what types of lures do you find works the best? I will be fishing lakes, ponds, and streams. Thanks Gregg
  3. BassPro has some of there’s on sale for 4.99. I picked up 4, now just need a chance to get out and test them out. Thank you everyone who has chimed in, I really do appreciate all your recommendations!
  4. I know, I made a mistake when typing.🙃 I am looking for info on spinner baits.
  5. Spinnerbait I made a mistake in my original post, I said swim bait but ment to say spinner bait.
  6. I fish from the bank and haver NEVER fished a swim bait but want to start. I have no idea what I should be looking for, color, size, that sort of thing. I fish mostly highly pressured lakes and ponds that are stained most of the year. What would you guys recommend? Keep in mind I’m new to this and I am on a tight budget for these. Thanks Gregg
  7. I was at my local BP in Maryland checking to see what if any spinning reels would be on sale and the guy behind the counter gave me a flier. Sale starts March 7th and runs through the 27th. @Fordsnfishin , there are 3 on sale Livescope LVS32 $999.97 Livescope+ LVS34 $ 1,699.99 Livescope plus LVS34 Transducer only 1,199.99
  8. Thanks for the replies. Right now I have 1 rod and it’s a 7’ MhF I will be throwing mainly soft plastics, senkos, brush hogs, creature hogs, and assorted worms, that sort of thing. I will also throw on occasion crank baits and have never fished a jig but would like to give that a go. Any suggestions on rod power? Buying 1 tomorrow and the third in a week or two.
  9. So in a previous post I stated that I am just getting back into Bass fishing and needed some insight into which baitcaster to buy out of the two I was looking at. I got a lot of good suggestions and insights but one in particular really got me thinking. Zell_pop1 had suggested I buy both, so after thinking about it for sometime I decided he was right and I bought both. Not only did I buy both, a few days later I bought another one, why, I don’t know. Now I have 3 Baitcasters and have no idea what type of line to spool them with. Two of them are 6:2:1 gear ratios while the third is an 8:3:1. As I stated in my previous post I am a bank angler, hoping to get a kayak sometime late summer, early fall. I would greatly appreciate any advice on what I type of line I should spool them with. I will be throwing mostly soft plastics, crank baits, spinner baits, and spoons. I have Yo-Zuri hybrid spooled on one but am willing to go in a different direction altogether, I’m not married to one type of line at this point. Help please! ( I still don’t know what I was thinking buying 3!!)
  10. Picked up the JM for a great price.
  11. Now that I’m getting back into bass fishing my neighbor gave me a spool of 50 lb Reaction Tackle Braid. is this stuff any good or should I not waste my time?
  12. Thanks for all the suggestions. Looks like anywhere between 12 and 15 lb is the answer. Now, let’s expand a little. If you had 1 baitcaster and only 1 type of line what would it be. What would be the most versatile, braid, mono, fluoro?
  13. I have an opportunity to buy either a Lew’s KVD 7:5:1 or BassPro Johnny Morris Platinum 6:8:1 baitcaster, both great prices. I can only buy one, which is better? Thanks
  14. Good evening all, I’ve been away for quite some time due to various reasons and just getting back into the game. I have 1 bait caster and will be using Fluorocarbon as my line. I am 100% a bank angler, if that matters. My bait caster has a 6:2:1 gear ratio and will be used for almost all of my applications. ( I do have a spinning reel I will use for lighter stuff.) Anyway, what lb test would you more experienced anglers use on this? I have used braid in the past and liked it well enough but would like to go with fluoro going forward. Thanks Gregg
  15. Good evening, Does anyone use the BassPro Carbonlite 2.0 Baitcaster? If so, what are your impressions? Thanks
