  1. I always wondered why no one put eyes on bullet weights, the offset weighting is interesting as well
  2. are yall defier fans backing your reels with cheap mono or filling full?
  3. I'm as far southeast Alabama as you can get and fish Seminole and Eufaula. Seminole spawn is coming to a close. Eufaula bass are in all three stages still of that's helps any
  4. You quoted my quote of the OP. I agree with you and only use Palomar for braid
  5. nope, but I prefer palomar for braid as it is strong and super quick to tie. fluro gets double improved clinch
  6. lot of good options out there. I run super start deep cycles group 31 from oreilly's. They are made by eastern penn (deka). I just bought 2 last week for $92 a piece Exide, Optima, Interstate are all good as well
  7. I've used both sizes but normally use 5/0. I haven't had any issues with hook ups on the 5 in, now the 7 in are massive and I've missed some bites. Most of the time they really choke these things for me.
  8. pretty tough lake this past week, glad Ott, Poche made it through and Watson because he's hilarious. anybody else notice how often guys throw topwater all day in these events? this is very rare for me. did yall catch Watsons comment to his boat official while he was being warned about the dropping water level? "safety is of upmost importance for me. but going fast is more important" haha
  9. Get a cheap magnetic compass and place it in the area you want to mount the sensor, keep doing this until you find an area with no interference
  10. The lanyard he's referring to is the kill switch lanyard. I hope you use this
  11. Gotta wait till you feel em and of course set the hook. . . hard
  12. Been there, well not 2 months in but still. It happens even to us mechanics. Always reminds me of the movie slingblade where Carl says "ain't got no gas in it" after a guy spent hours working on a lawn mower The other day at work I was replacing an oil pan gasket and when I was done I started refilling the oil. I put the normal amount in and checked the stick, no oil. I assume after sitting overnight the reserve oil had all drained out so I added more. Still nothing. I then assumed my oil gun wasnt reading right and just added more. Anyway 2 gallons later I remembered that I forgot to hook the oil dipstick tube back up and I wasnt checking anything. Truck had plenty of oil!!
  13. Can I come fish in your pool?
  14. Yep mines cancelled too. I get they ran out but what's bad is the reel is still showing available right now in the bargain cave
  15. @Choporoz @JawjaBoy @Dens228 @A-Jay anybody else get an email about the quantum reel that its now backordered? Wonder how long before I actually get it
  16. Think about how your boat will sit in the water vs. How it sits on trailer. My bet it it will sit a little lower
  17. I'm never guna save any money
  18. Lots a laughs for me today. Casey's broken rod, poche dropping the pole during a hookset and lane throwing that fish above the boat and getting penalized. Was an entertaining episode
  19. I swim all my jigs. I throw "swim" jigs (pointed head) when I'm fishing around grass
  20. Its marketed and designed to come through timber, and the design looks like it would from the side fins to the way the trebles lay. My plan has been to throw it in some nasty stiff and if it works great and if I lose it then oh well it was cheap
  21. I own one but have yet to throw it. I've been meaning to throw it around some big laydowns to test but haven't yet, its ugly
  22. @ww2farmer a jig is my hammer!
  23. Well we can add Keith poche to this list. He fumbled a hookset on MLF yesterday and the fish took the rod lol
  24. Its an older quantum tour pt Paul Elious edition 7ft ML fast
