  1. Guna get one for your tin Catt?
  2. Buy a different frog, I used Spro for a few years but the plastic is the toughest of just about all the hollow bodies. Softer plastic equals easier hookups. Some will disagree but that's my experiance
  3. sorry I was specifically asking about TW. The tread I posted in was about TW but it was merged into this one
  4. slightly off topic but has anyone ever purposely bought a backordered item and received it once it came back in stock? there website states the item will ship as soon as its in stock free shipping as long as you paid shipping on other items in the original order but ive never received my backorder items, nor was I charged for them
  5. Never seen and inboard/outboard but I've seen jetski engines put into Jon boats before. They couldn't be seen unless you looked inside the boat
  6. I've started using it more lately mainly because I don't lose my weights that often so they last me long enough to justify the cost for now. If I fished more rocky lakes/rivers I probably would feel differently
  7. I love it when my rod gets bent. . ? I've honestly never had one do this, had guides be off center. Abu has good customer service. They might replace it for only shipping cost
  8. If your punching you should normally be pretty much on top of them. Making long pitches when punching decreases hookups, makes strikes harder to detect and is just overall harder to get a bait through the cover efficiently. Rod seems fine could be fish are feeling the heavy weight and your not quick enough on the gun, only thing else I can say is reel down and really hammer it home with this technique
  9. jerkbaits. ive caught fish but few, also get lots of follows I just cant get confidence throwing em
  10. You have nothing to worry about
  11. You would have to submerge or force water up the exhaust for this to be an issue. Also I assume your not cutting the motor off while running and letting it come to an abrupt stop so exhaust is being forced out the whole time and won't let any water in even if submerged
  12. agreed. I don't mind so much with good friends but I fish in a club where we draw partners but each guy is responsible for his own limit. I spend the day trying to catch a limit but also feel responsible for them catching a limit as well.
  13. Then only thing that doesn't set well with me is losing a big bite. Ruins my day no matter how well it was. Other than that I agree a day on the water beats most any other day
  14. Same thing happened to me my first tourney. It was just another day of fishing, shake it off and go again. In tourney fishing somebody always catches em. Sometimes your the guy and sometimes your not.
  15. My day box consist of a lot! Lol but I guess I could just list what's tied on across the deck and its very simalr to yours Graham. Not at home so no pics Seiberts 3/8 brush jig/rage menace trailer Trig zoom ultravibe Trig zoom trick worm White 1/4 oz cavitron buzzbait SK 3xd Rage craw on weighted swimbait hook(rage rig) Booyah pad crasher Weightless SK caffeine shad Punch rig 1 oz tung weight with trig rage bug These or some variation will be on deck all summer more than likely
  16. Yep stones are mine as well by a long shot. Ain't had anything worse and don't want to either
  17. I agree with bluebasser when he says once the frog is gone set the hook but I do sort of wait on frog bites, mainly because the fish often slap or miss all together. I reel with a steady retrieve even after a blow up until I either feel weight or the frog disappears. I've had fish tracking a frog and blow up 3 or 4 times before they actually really get it, just keep reeling. The hooksets are definately important here and the longer the rod the easier it is. I have more issues with hollow body's than the soft plastic frogs but they are similar in how I go about them
  18. I stretch. . . either on the boat or just before launching. Never seen anyone I fish with nor any of the guys in my club do this but when you fish 10 hr days it sure helps
  19. The standard hollow body frog weighs 1/2 oz so should have no issues there, majority of guys are actually throwing them on heavy action rods to combat the vegetation once hooked up. As for throwing weightless floating worms it can done but will be much easier for spinning gear. I throw trick worms with a panel nail in the tail on a baitcaster but don't expect much distance.
  20. Can you tell us how they feel soft wise compared to booyah or spro etc?
  21. Alright its May now anyone who owns these got anything to say about em? Are they as soft as the booyah frogs? Does the fur/Velcro do anything
  22. Nothing lol everything in my boat besides toilet paper has to do with bass fishing and the TP is for crappin when I'm bass fishing
  23. Been there and won't make the mistake again. Caught a really good fish probably a PB at the time, didn't have a net so I sat in driver seat and lipped it. Pulled her out the water and she didn't fight. Like a DA I pulled the jig out while the bass was still halfway over the gunwail and she went nuts. Dropped her and Away she went as I watched. Ruined my whole day
  24. Its just not how I want to start fishing. Fishing anything weightless is slow and is a tool for catching inactive bass. I'm always going to try to catch active fish first, then try for a reaction bite and then I will throw a wacky worm if that's all I can get bit on. This is just the way I fish and isn't right or wrong just my way
  25. I personally wouldn't choose a senko first. They are normally at the bottom of my list when nothing else works. They do make great follow up baits when you miss a bite though
