  1. This is my next project. I'm getting a lot of interference on sonar with my helix 7 when I run the TM. Not only interference but it loses the depth constantly giving me crazy readings like 200ft. Thanks
  2. I couldn't disagree even if I wanted to. I've literally only thrown a DS maybe 5 times, thanks for the insight
  3. I don't have much experiance with a DS either but I know a lot who do. I'm guilty of only trying new things when all my usual things don't work or the fishing seems tough, probably a bad habit but some days they seem to only bite one thing so you never know. What was the water color like? In my mind a DS is geared toward clearer water
  4. I have not but some guys in my club swear by it, here is what they do Fill live well half full of ice A certain amount of peroxide depending on livewell size Add Gjuice And they then run on recirc all day after initially filling them. I've heard others disagree but these guys rarely turn in dead fish. The arguments made were about ammonia building up in the well
  5. I agree with pretty much everything that was said but with moving baits I believe a bait presented between the fish and the shore is most important. Even if that means it comes from behind, from what I've seen fish just really react if they can trap the bait between them and shore and get more response when that is the case. On a river this means a lot of parallel and on lakes say a point I've been known to step out the boat and fish the point from land if not in a tournament
  6. I don't own any rods that I would dead lift a 25lb weight with.
  7. 16lbs is a decent bag and I'm all about being in it to win it but I think you should fish one anyway. Its a totally different exeriance fishing a tournament and you might love it. Not to mention meet some good people with the same hobby as you. Good chance of learning a lot as well.
  8. Should be able to splice into the wires just before and just after the foot pedal pressure switch and add a toggle. Just splice into it but leave wires hooked to pressure switch this way when the toggle is on its just bypassing the pressure switch and with the toggle off you can still run using pressure switch
  9. Your trolling motor doesn't have a constant setting? I've never owned one without it and Ive had plenty over the years
  10. Just do what bear grylls does and "drink your pee"
  11. This one won me and my partner some money Saturday on a 3xd
  12. Still waiting on one of these to show up in the mail. . . Favorite to throw - spinner bait Most successful and also my second favorite- seiberts jig A 3xd crank is really been killing it for me this year though
  13. Mine come inside when I park the boat
  14. pretty sure they mean member "everythingthatswims" and if so he also gets my vote or if Hootie is willing he's my second choice
  15. Dang maybe I can catch a rerun
  16. Is it already over? I didn't know either
  17. ^^ what he said. It should not be difficult
  18. The electric motor, shaft, pedal, prop, head unit, foot control, mounting base, and about 24 inches of wire. All of this preferably assembled and intact
  19. Jose Franco you know the baseball player. . .
  20. Jackson is the only one that comes to mind. Or you could travel a little northwest and hit Seminole
  21. Not at all. I can adjust in about 10 seconds but since all my other reels have external brakes its annoying. I'm used to the convienence
  22. Love my original BB1 for cranking but if I had a choice I would get pro. Why? Because it has an external brake. I make adjustments to the brakes to compensate for casting in the wind and it would be so much easier if I didn't have to take the side plate off
  23. Pad crashers
  24. I've yet to land a fish on one but I struggle with frogs period. I should clarify I'm using tcbass's homemade version since I already had all the components besides the tail. Still an issue hooking up. They oukk it down but when I set they ain't there. They have been great for making a fish show themselves though so I can catch em on another presentation
  25. Cranks for me. I don't lose many frogs and the ones I do are to the heat or small nicks that make them take on water. I lose cranks regular fishing in brush
