  1. So you what I'm hearing is you no longer need the tour kvd rods. I'm ready to buy?
  2. Dang A-jay. Whoever inherits your tackle could open a shop. If this is what you carry I couldnt imagine what's in storage and the amount of plastics lol
  3. I doubt anyone is eating any bass from this pond so this kid killing a few is probably helping the overall population.
  4. New reels are normally over greased. If I buy a reel that's not butter smooth from the start it gets taken back.
  5. Used to be the same for me as well but now the only XF I use is for heavy flipping. I prefer more tip on all other presentations to aid in skipping and loading rod when casting. Hook sets or feel haven't suffered so I'm happy
  6. I have all 3 different keitechs but feel the fat version might kick too much. Also SK swim n shiner as well as some Big bite bait brands. I have Texas rigged them, weedless jig heads and weighted swimbait hooks. I'm always in cover so open hooks are useless. For the most part I've just been slow rolling them around cover like I would a spinnerbait. I have not done any dragging or hopping on bottom. I've only been throwing them off and on during fun fishing days. Have yet to use them during a tourney. Could be I've just been using them during an off time. Also noticed that for whatever reason I tend to only buy whites and translucent color ones. Maybe I should try the darker colors that work with other soft plastics. Will also maybe switch reels. I've been throwing them on a 7 ratio I believe so I will try something slower as yall suggest
  7. Hoping some of you can shed some light and give me some direction on fishing paddle tail swimbaits for largemouth exclusively. I've had plenty of success using them as jig trailers but for whatever reason cant seem to consistantly get bites fishing them by their self. I have several brands that I'm sure all catch fish so I'm more interested in technique. It's strange that I've struggled so much since in my area swimming worms like the ultravibe or swim n dinger are limit getters for me and many others in the clubs. These little swimbaits look much better in the water but arent near as effective. Just wondering if it's me.
  8. Surprised at all the senko answers. I could see if he asked for your favorite fall back lure. While they catch fish senkos are certainly not my favorite thing to fish. My answer to favorite lure consist of what I would throw if catching was a guarantee no matter the bait. Spinnerbait - just fun to fish and work through cover Hollow frog - solely for the way bass blow up on them. Every strike is priceless
  9. 25 yds big game mono to 75 yd 20lb fluro leader. Football jig means no grass, no grass no braid.
  10. Are they the same thickness and just longer or both bigger and longer? Thanks @T.A.HawgSnatchen
  11. By May the hydrilla should be a factor. But Eufaula will always be a structure lake. So the ledges, points, humps and saddles along with the addition of man made brush piles hold the majority of fish. fish are still mostly shallow right now. October can be tough on eufaula. Fish will be scattered everywhere. Finding the bait is the best pattern. The north end of the lake is the most consistent and probably the most popular.
  12. Just a quick tip that I've learned the hard way. Moth balls nor anything else I've found that is rumored to keep mice away work. I used to store boat in my barn but got tired of losing the battle so I bought a carport and placed in the middle of my field where I can cut grass all the way around it. I also let the wife get 2 outside cats. This is the only thing that worked for me
  13. Flurocarbon still and will probably never be my favorite line but the positives have outweighed the negatives. So until they make something better it's what I'll use for the few techniques it excels at
  14. With all the recent threads on floro choices I just wanted to get some feedback. What is your experiance with flurocarbon lines abrasion resistance? I know its marketed this way and for the last 2 years it's all I've used on several setups but I've found it to be extremely finicky. I feel the need to constantly check for Knicks to avoid a break off. Is mono the same but the added stretch just somewhat mitigates the stress on weak points? (I've had many more break off with fluro than any other line) What are yalls experiances?
  15. Might as well been. if you see a Kelly J custom spy bait on the flea market later dont say nothing Think I paid like 12 bucks for that thing too
  16. Only 2 prop baits I use are the boy howdy and the crazy shad. Last time I tried a new one it was a Kelly jordan prop bait cant remember the name but it sunk. Never bothered to buy anymore
  17. 15lb big game with a 75yd 15lb trilene 100% fluro leader ?
  18. I have one on my boat because it came with it. I really like the remote steer but would not buy another one. The terrova seems to be the better option or of course the ultrex being the best
  19. I assume your talking best week for spawn. Hard to narrow it down exactly but I would say this 3rd or 4th week of March. Fish should be in all 3 stages all over the lake. Fished a tourney there this past Saturday and the water temps ranged from 50 to 52. Maybe that will help you narrow it down better
  20. Anyone else notice crocs have changed? I have a well worn pair probably almost 10 years old. Went to get some new ones and they are no where near as soft or as much cushioning. Like they changed the formula, Or is it just me?
  21. I'd hate to lose a $500 unit for a 20cent fuse
  22. Jerk bait for me as well. They look great but are poor producers. Only positive is that when I fish one fish show themselves regularly by coming up to look at it, but they rarely eat it
  23. Just realized they must of let Marty Stone go. Wonder why his interviews and commentary werent terrible. They should at least have someone interacting with the guys during breaks and etc.
  24. Similar to others I have doubles of my 2 most productive setups. 2 identicle jig rods and crank rods. The jigs rods I vary weight and color and cranks I vary depth and color. I have confidence in these two presentations. I feel I just need to narrow down the exact one for the day and this makes it easier
