  3. Well...that settles it. Ill put it in the dead lure box or hang it on my rearview in the truck. Thanks for the help. I got them thinkin "thats a pretty real lookin frog! I bet they'll hit it like a train!" just to find out that the train doesnt stop at this station.
  4. I bought a couple lunker frogs last week. I feel like i might be fishing it wrong. I ve been fishing it like every other frog but im not getting any hits on it. But i get hits on my other ones. Is there a different way i should be fishing it?
  5. My brother pointed out that i say this EVERYTIME i set a hook whether its on a rock, a log, some grass, or low and behold a fish. I say "GOT EM! Its about time ya took it. Now c'mere u"
  6. Thank you again YakSlayer i did find myself at the bait store this morning and i picked up a couple buzz baits ive got a few lipless cranks tthat were handed down to me from family. All my tackle is of natural color for the simple reason of i dont like wacky colors i dont see why fish would. Today when i hit the big pond i couldnt get the fish to take anything. A guy that was there told me to use a jig around some fallen trees and through some weed cover and i looked at him like he was purple (i knew nothing about jigging) he gave me a quick 1,2, on jigging and helped me alot. And somehow i grabbed 2 large mouth out of there. Then tonight while catfishing (something i frequently do) i was using a nice fat nightcrawler. And right around 1am i felt a nice tug. So thinking ive got a kingsize kitty on my hook i went to town to find out it was large mouth number 3 for the day. Very productive day today and i think im going to pursue more about using jigs. Theyre difficult and different and thats how i like it.
  7. Thank you for all the welcomes
  8. Any input on buzzbait colors. I have this really nice frog but im probably fishing wrong

  10. Thank you YakSlayer i think i need to hit the bait shop befor i go my tackle is very limited at the moment being that ive just recently branched off of my norm of fly fishing. Water clarity in the pond is usually pretty clear but in the river right now its bad and high and fast. Should i avoid the river?
  11. Im hittin the water on saturday. Its suppose to be 63 and partly cloudy after about a weeks worth of on,off rain. Ill be fishing from the bank of a pond and maybe a river pending how things go at the pond. Does anyone have any tips or pointers for a beginner. Thank you
  12. Thank you a-jay
  13. Hey, im new to forums, never really used em. I live in upstate ny and im an avid fly fisher for trout but ive never really actively fished for bass im just now starting to use spin reels and bait casters over my fly rod. The water here isnt all that great and i mainly fish in ponds and rivers so ive been dealing with ALOT of bluegill lately and they've been getting in the way. How different from trout fishing is bass. Could i be doing something wrong? And what should i use for the susquehanna river (has a moderate current, visibility is usually fair and water is generally on the cooler side). Ive been slow working a topwater frog, a suspending minnow, and still fishing an occasional nightcrawler with absolutely no luck. any advice would help like i said im new to bass and would really like to land some. Thank you
