  1. Rumors the LOP gave up a 15 today on another board!
  2. Lake of the Pines. It's been taking mid 30's to win tournaments there this year.
  3. I lived in Texarkana 1 year, and I spent every minute I could on Millwood. It's still my favorite lake. I need to get back up there. Read Mike Seifert's fishing report. I caught my PB doing what he said to do.
  4. There is some excellent scenery in Peter Creek, especially in the summertime. That's the rumor at least. Chase can probably vouch for me on that one. Are you from Marvinville? If your ever on the lake and some random boat comes up to you and ask you that question... Say yes and play along.
  5. Curious Matt, Where are the 309 flats? Is there more grass that I don't know about? I thought those boys were fishing the same area as we were. LOVE THE GRASS.
  6. There are not a whole lot of tournaments out there. There is a small bass club that fishes out there once a month. From about March through June... you better bring minimum 25 lbs if you want first. The guys that win do nothing but flip trees. They may only get 6- 8 bites a day, but they are the rights ones.
  7. Lake Conway... the lake that hooked me on bass fishing. I fished that lake pretty hard for about 4 years. Haven't been there in the last two (I moved). The major boat lanes are marked pretty good, but still be extra careful. Once you get off the trail to fish... YOU WILL HIT A STUMP. Be careful. Best areas, and I am not sure what the map will show or if it will have names of areas., But Palarm creek and Dix Creek were two of my best places. Big cove is going to be covered in lilly pads. you'll have a good chance to catch some good fish in there early on a frog. the pads will probably be too thick to throw a buzzbait, you might be able to get an inline buzzbait through there. Arts pond is another good area (it's close to palarm) Fish the bank just south of arts pond back towards big cove. Canteberry cove is another good one. The big fish are going to be out in the trees. But there are so many trees it is a little overwhelming. Fish the trees that have a creek close by or some other kind of cover or structure. You can waist a lot of time flipping unproductive trees. You would think a jig would be a good bait there. and it is if you can get away from the trot lines that have been set and left. There are a million out there. Texas rigs seem to not get caught on them as much. Green pumpkin baby brush hogs and lizards worked best for me. I prefer texas rigs over jigs there. A jig and a tied of trot line feels just like that typical "mush" feeling that a big bass feels like. White double willow spinnerbaits work very good as well. Just to reiterate... You will hit a stump. My buddy and I used to place bets on how many we were going to hit idleing across an area. And the numbers were usually double digits. May was my favorite time. Cover water. You will fall in love with a frog on that lake
  8. If you are around SW Arkansas, check out Millwood. I grew up in Arkansas, Fished all the lakes mentioned above. Millwood is my favorite by far.
  9. http://www.myspace.com/outdoormusicseries Saw this posted somewhere else, and had to post here. 8-)
  10. Bighead is right. Go to said website and go down the tournaments section and there is a stickied topic about Waco tournaments. Also, have fun reading that 46 page thread. I would need cliff notes.
  11. I'll bring cash. 8-) That sucks about the transmitter. You need to put something on your dash to remind you that thing will fly. I have been trying to stay away from BPS. They have been getting too much of my paycheck. And they will be getting some more soon b/c i am updating my graphs and I have had my eye on a Revo STX for a while now. Good to hear you found em. I hope the weather cooperates and we can find that magic dock. You crank em and I'll jig em.
  12. I used to be the guy who defended Bandits to the death. They are good, I have more of them than anything else. There is a time and place for each. The hooks are horrible. Change em. I will say this, if LC RC 1.5 and bandits were the same price, I would have 100% LC's. 8-)
  13. Little Minnow, PM me. I have been fishing since I was a kid. And I have been serious bass fishing for the last 6 or so years. And I am just down the road from you. I live in Euless. I can show you a few things. I am usually out on Lewisville. I'll take you out sometime. It probably won't be until after christmas. I have a tournament the first two weekends of December, and I'll be out of town all of Thanksgiving. So if you are up for some cold weather fishing I'll probably have a back seat. Do you know Texas_Boy? I am going to take him out sometime too. Maybe we can all 3 go out, and i'll show yall some stuff.
  14. Guilty of that. During the recent move, When house hunting, my first thing to look at was the garage. I would measure it, if it was not long enought for my boat, I wouldn't even look at the rest of the house. My boat takes priority over everything.
  15. Beats the, you know what, out of Texarkana, TX and Conway, AR. Too many tournaments, I don't know which ones to fish. Will for sure be hitting up Bass Champs north next Spring. Met Matt Fly on the lake a few weeks ago. Great guy. Hopefully we'll be splitting some checks next year. I just hope none of my friends see me fishing out of a boat with the longhorn logo covering the motor. He might wake up one moring and those horns will be upside down.
  16. You seriously contemplate quiting your job so you can live the dream. And by living the dream I mean anything that has to do with bass fishing. Haven't done it yet, but it crosses my mind everyday.
  17. Well we ended up in Euless. We backed out of our contract on the house in Carrollton. I have been to Grapevine once, Cedar Creek once, and Lewisville many times. I like Lewisville. It has been tough, but there are enough tournaments on there to make me want to learn it. I want to hit up Ray Bob. It looks like the lakes I grew up fishing on. I miss the cypress trees, lilly pads, hydrilla, milfoil of Millwood in SW Arkansas.
  18. Mark Davis chooses B.A.S.S Good for him. Can't wait to watch him next year. Well, the link won't copy. : http://www.basszone.com/2007zlines/davis2.htm
  19. Just fixed it One of the cables had come off of the pulley in the head of the trolling motor. Took me quite a while to figure out how I was supposed to get it back on. It seemed like I was about an inch short on cable. I eventually moved the propellar head in the right position (somewhat torquing it a little bit farther than it wanted to go, but not much) the stars aligned and I finally got it back on track. Note to self, control anger on water. It happened Saturday. I was throwing a square billed LC RC 1.5. It got hung up and I went up to get it and it would not come off, I even bent over and got elbow deep in the water trying to get it. Finally it broke off. Out of frustration of just loosing my first LC I slammed the trolling motor pedal with my foot to get out of there and the cable came off of it's track. So now i have just lost a LC and my trolling motor is not functional. So I would warn everyone against hitting that trolling motor pedal to hard or with too much force. But anyway it is fixed and I learned my lesson. Glad I wasn't in a tournament.
  20. I have a Minn Kota with a cable steer foot pedal. Now the pedal won't steer the trolling motor. So I looked at the pedal and the cables appear to be on the tracks but when I go one direction the cable doesn't move, but it will still go the other direction so I don't thing the cables broke. I plan on trying to work on it tomorrow and was wondering if anyone has had this happen and can give me any pointers.
  21. you are the man Catt. I had never tied on a jig until about this time last year. I forced myself to learn the jig this year. It has by far become my favorite way to fish. Not surprising, the year I concentrate on jigs i catch my personal best. my only problem with a jig has become i have so much confidence in it now I won't put it down.
  22. Millwood is great. You can fish about anything you want there. It is approx. 30,000 acres. You can fish cypress trees, lilly pads, hydrilla, milfoil, a big main lake, many river channels, current, oxbows, clear water creeks, muddy to stained water, clear water...you name it and millwood has it. I lived in Texarkana for a year and I will be making a few trips back there every year.
  23. Mark is and Arkansas boy. I would like to see him back with BASS. I would also have him on my fantasy team from day 1.
  24. One more Millwood. 9.4 postspawner.
  25. Another Millwood. This one is a baby compared to some I have seen
