  1. you can pay me $$$$ and then fish any lake you want to.
  2. have on on my tracker and love it. great unit. still figuring out all the features
  3. no..... I bought a HD5 earlier this year and the hot spot map card will not load on it.
  4. I have a 17'6 sea nymph GLS and run a 109# 36volt MG tour digital and love it. can run in any wind, current, or weeds with out any problem. have had mine sine 2005 and have had no problems
  5. humminbird 887c
  6. what HP motor? motors come in 3 sizes. short 15 inch long 20inch xtralong 25inch most short shafts come in low HP motors 20 inch (long) is the most commom shaft the 25 inch xl is mostly found on bigger hp motors for large offshore and bigger V hull boats
  7. I have a 2005 Tracker tx 175 and love it. when I got it I went halves with my father in law and wasn't sure about It. did not think highly of trackers, but after just one trip in this boat I love it. Mine only has a 25hp on it(because of HP restictions) and it runs great. I would like to get a bigger motor for it, say a 75hp, but for right now its our restricted lake boat. like I said I give it 2 thumbs up. the only problems I have is the cheep fishfinder, got rid of that and put a HD7 on it, the other thing is the TM, 45# 12v is ok, but in heavy weeds it just can't handle. I will be moving up to a 80# 24v soon. If I can find out how to fit 3 batteries in it I'll put my 109# 36v on it. I have 2 friends that have them with 71# 24v and that is a great TM size for that boat
  8. GPS is a big yes, and also if you are deciding between color or black and white go color
  9. don't know anything about them, but I do see a few around. they are all 16-17 foot "tracker like" boats and seem to be rock solid and run good. I know their outboards are strong runners
  10. rock solid. I have quick release brackets on a 52# PD and on a 109# MG tour and they are as solid as if they were bolted right to the deck. also if you cover your boat, takeing off the TM help the life of the cover
  11. I run a 36volt MG Tour and way2slow is right when you change one change them all. My boat is out 75+ a year and i get 3-4 years on a set of batteries (cheep batteries too). One question you say that the TM is feeding off of one? if that is the case then you only run 12 volt, even if all batteries are in series. the neg wire from your TM should be off of battery one and the pos should be off of battery 3. this is a bad diagram but here goes. if you run the pos and neg from any of the 3 batteries they will be at 12volt. you can run your livewell/ elctronic of of any 12 volt hook you. this is how my set up is. also make sure you charger is working. when my first set went bad it was beacuse of the charger and it cooked the bateries. TM 36 volt neg POS l l l l l l l l neg pos______neg pos_______neg pos battery one battery two battery three l l l l l l l l 12 volt running all electronics and live wells.
  12. I don't have one, but would like to get one. I know many many people that have the 18hp 2 stroke and 30hp 2 stroke and they just love them. they are very great running motors, also run very strong. lots of them in my neck of the woods any I know nobody that have anything bad to say about them.
  13. i used just a screw( self tapping) in one side, no need to anchor and no did not need to seal the screws. they are way way above the water line. I mean if water is leaking in the screw holes then water is comming over the rails
  14. why don't you call the guy you bought it off of and ask him how he had it set up.
  15. simple green, I use it on all three of my Aluminum boats. on bad water line stains. I put it on straight( with out wetting the boat). use a scrub brush and then wash it off
  16. going to need to put in a new steering cable. not that much $$ a few $100 not $1000 like you said. My Sea Nymph did the same thing and once they start to stiffen up there is noway to get them loose again. time for a new cables, this is very common on boats of that age. My boat is a 1990 and the steering needed changed 6 years ago.
  17. might be, mine are black plasic. If your boat is close to the look of mine, and I think it is. there is a top rail ( bright alum) that runs the top of the hull. If you drill into that there is no problem of leaks, its feet above the water Line. I mounted them on the inside so that they would not interfear with my cover. sorry I don't have any pics. right now that boat is sitting at my father's house. so I can't run out and snap a pic. That is problem with haveing 3 boats. I don't have the room right now at my house.
  18. I have a starcaft SS and it didn't come with cleats either. we added them, just bought 4 of them, can get them anywhere. and I put them on the inside of the top rail. had to do a little drilling and some stainless screws and it was done.
  19. I have never had a smokercarft, but have buddies that have v hull Smokercrafts and they all are older boats and seem to be bullitproof, and lot of these boats run lake erie. I also see alot of them running around
  20. I have a Sea Nymph GLS 175 with a 75hp (17'6" with walk thru windshield) It has 4 batteries, front and rear decks,( I added the rear deck and LW's) 2 18 gal live wells, 18 gal gas and with two guys I can get shallower than allot of my buddies bass boats, also I am not afraid of bumping into rocks, stumps. The only thin I do not like about a V hull is that the wind does catch it very easy so a bigger TM might be in order. I run a 109# 36 volt MG abit over kill, but I like it and 82# would have been fine. Allot of people think Deep V's sit deeper in the water but in most cases a V hull sits shallower than most bass boats. Why? When a bass boat is at rest or going by the TM it sits low in the water, at plane it lifts itself out of the water. On most V hull they sit high in the water, most of the boat is out of the water then at plane they do lift, but not as much as a bass boat. Here is a picture of mine; if you look close you can see a water line, which is about 12 inches up the hull
  21. try moving them to the back. My 14foot V hull 9.9merc s stroke with two batteries (in the back) tm up front, and back front and rear deck with two guys (over 225lbs each) will do 11-12mph on gps. also you might want to try a set of "dole finns" with out them my 14 footer will not plane at all. you can get them for $25-$30
  22. if its an 18hp tohatsu/Nissan ( not very old 1980's 1990's) I would say get it they are great motor and will get the boat up on plane.
  23. if its your main motor I would go for the standard motor. the High thrust is used for a kicker, sailboats and, poontoon boats. HT outboards are for pushing alot of weight. They ussially have lower gears & lower pitch bigger props that let them push more weight. They are not fast.
  24. the 70# 24volt hands down and yes it will last way longer than 2 batteries on 12 volt. It has nothing to do with speed(which the 70 will be way faster than the 55) it has to do with range. and the 24 volt will run way longer even at hight thrust than the 12 volt will anyday, even with smaller batteries on the 24volt. If you already carry and extra battery than why not go with the 24volt and you not need to carry back up batteries.
