  1. Couldn't agree more. Cheap waders are like flying in a plane that is in "pretty good shape", or dating a woman who is "almost divorced."
  2. These types of materials are huge in the kayak world. Google SeaDek and then check out all of the other options that pop up as well. SeaDek has a very informative website btw.
  3. Little guys do hit the 130.
  4. Welcome. If I could catch crappie that size on a regular basis in my backyard, I might shift my focus a bit on occasion.
  5. I went to my Bass Pro today and they had all kinds of Bass Mafia stuff on the shelves. That is certainly something they haven't had before. Man are their terminal tackle boxes heavy. Nice, but heavy.
  6. Gammy hooks work well and are priced reasonably so they represent 90% of my hooks.
  7. I use Power Pro which I have found to have a great balance of durability, price and function. If you are using a mono backer, a small amount of braid should get you pretty far. It's the 1500 yard spools that kill the pocket book.
  8. Can't wait to share this with my wife. I am sure she will be thrilled at my dedication.
  9. What you really need to be asking is what rod would be the best choice with a $150 budget.

  13. Welcome
  14. I just bought another Stradic Ci4+ on the TW close out sale. If it weren't for a great price, I was getting a Supreme XT because I love my wife's. That says an awful lot when the Supreme XT is in the running with a Stradic.
  15. If you use a log of Z Man baits, this is the best way. Of course there are other worm binders out there, but their bags are pre punched for the binder. Nice.
  16. I have some on the way from Skirmish Baits. I am not a huge jerk bait guy so I am anxious to see if these can sway me into using them a bit more this winter.
  17. Going to be tough to beat a Mojo with the specs you gave.
  18. Welcome to the site.
  19. Add me to the Big Game voters. Wdp, I think I'm like you. I have some 8 pound Invisx sitting on my kitchen table (my wife loves me), and I know there is some XT out in the garage.
  20. I have a Daiwa Tatula 7'6" that does the job. Fitzgerald also has a ton of options in multiple price ranges.
  21. Didn't see the pic, unless you were fishing at midnight, but either way, tell him congrats. I had the same with my then four year old nephew over the summer. He is a dedicated angler now and tells me how he wants to go walleye fishing. No idea where he even came up with that since I've never caught (or would know how) a walleye in my life.
  22. Your post is kind of like a wannabe prostitue (although humbly, a very good one) going to a swingers convention, criticizing them for their lifestyle, and then asking advice to draw more johns. Do you really not see anything wrong with being so pompous, coming to a website built and shared by enthusiast, talking smack, and then asking for help?
  23. My son is 23, my daughter is 21, and my nephew is 5. My daughter in particular, since she lives nearby, always reminds me about events in our past together that she sees that are similar to events with my nephew. My daughter and nephew are the fishermen in the family. Kids don't have bad days fishing, they have bad experiences with us as parents. Yea it sucks when they aren't as into it as we are, but I can tell you now, it's pretty cool when that 12 year old turns 21 and calls you up and asks to go fishing. Hang in there.
  24. After watching my kids grow to adults, it took raising my five year old nephew to teach me this. When young kids are involved, unless you want to ruin the day for everyone, fishing with young kids means you are there to help them fish, not act like they are your co-angler.
