  1. It's like the old saying, the more lures you bring the less fish you'll catch.
  2. That looks awesome. Actually I was going to ask if fish get scared of lights during the night (headlamps, boat lights) but I guess that answers my question. I'm going to fish some ponds first and get used to it. Like I stated before, here in central Florida there are gators everywhere and not to mention cottonmouths which are very aggressive. Might be a good idea to wear knee high rubber boots and protect the legs from snake bites.
  3. Never fished the wekiva River, from what I hear it can be pretty tricky and tough due to the clear waters and traffic. I plan on rentig a canoe with a buddy at wekiva falls on 46 and just fishing out of that. there are tons of pads along the river so I'm sure there are some nice bass under them. anybody have any tips or advice or experience fishing wekiva?
  4. Lake Mary here. Went out to the river today caught a few small ones and a 15 lb catfish.
  5. You've made a great point. Can somebody recommend a good black worm and buzzbait. Also should I use a trailer?
  6. Wow thanks, I would of never thought to throw something black as I would think that since the water is darker a brighter worm would be easier for a fish to see. I was going to throw a senko watermelon or zoom watermelon. . Maybe Ill get something a little darker to try. Night time in florida means gators and snakes too, yikes.
  7. Do bass bite at night, let's say 1-2 hours after the sun sets? I have a lot of golf courses nearby and the groundsmen said the golfers frown upon fishers there during the day but after hours would be better. I was just wondering if bass were even active at all when it gets dark out?
  8. I feel sorry for the guy who cleaned all that lol
  9. Ok sounds good thanks guys guess I'll keep them in the packaging
  10. Does everybody keep their worms in the zip lock packaging. I want to take them out and store them right in my tackle box since the extra plastic takes up so much weight but didn't know if them being out in the open will cause them to dry out and stiffen up. Thanks
  11. I'm in your boat man I'm new to plastics been out a few times using plastic worms and it's hard to tell if I'm seaweed or it's an actually bite so I do a little of hook setting but I'm just catching water. Lol I'm fishing weightless Texas rig with a 5 inch worm. Size 4 offset hook. 20 lb braid. For somebody who is new to jigging, should they start with weight?
  12. Thanks for your wonderful insight....
  13. Thanks everybody, I plan to get more familiar with when to use which lure. My main concern is when to fish bottom vs top. Right now I been throwing a lot of Texas weightless zoom watermelon plastics. Have had a little success but not much and this is mainly probably Bc I've only had the time to fish mid day when the bass are less active. what time frames are the best to fish bass. To my u derstand is before it gets too hot and before it gets too dark.
  14. I know that used the right lure/bait for specific seasons is crucial. I am wondering if there are any charts or info somebody cant point me to that shows a monthly agenda such as how to fish, what water depth to fish, what kind of lures to use ( top or bottom, real or artificial, etc). I am in central florida. I know now that the hot season is coming and bass will be moving more towards deeper colder waters. I am confused as to when to use top water lures vs bottom. Thanks!
  15. I used to fish with my dad every weekend growing up. As time passed and I got older life become busy with school, sports, college, work, family etc. I am now craving to get back on the water. I recently got into flats fishing as well. I want to learn more about bass fishing as there are tons of lakes and ponds around me. Just went out and bought my first bait caster (lews) after only using spinning reels my whole life. Took me a few days to get the release point correct so I wasn't throwing straight into the water and getting birds nests lol. I'm learning more and more about bait casting everyday. Ready to catch some lunkers!
