  1. Not sure if this has been answered in past posts or not but my old highschool derby partner and I are looking for a team trail wednesday night type deal to fish this summer (assuming coronavirus doesn't put a halt on tournaments). Those of you who fish the greenhorn tour, do they offer partner tournaments or only angler/coangler ones? Thanks and stay healthy.
  2. I second Thorne Bro's. They custom build rods themselves. Never had a handle modified by them but have had many guides fixed/replaced.
  3. Are those Tranx 200s in the picture A Jay? If so, how do you like them?
  4. Been in Colorado since August due to college but my buddies back home have been slamming brown fish and walleyes on the Big Pond this past week. Worth a shot for all you guys who are still grinding. I remember last year around this time we killed them slow rolling keitechs in low 40s water.
  5. Carlos has decent smallies. Finished well in a high school tourney with a few brown kickers.
  6. White bear has a fishable population of smallmouth. Tonka has plenty of them too but you usually find them mixed in with the largemouth, not real smallie fishing I guess.
  7. I too have been wondering about the bass fishing in CO. I've lived and bass fished in MN my whole life and am going to college in Boulder this year. I can't imagine the bass in CO get as pressured by as skilled of anglers as in MN and especially Cali.
  8. 40# throwing toads and plopper 130s
  9. I tried smackdown and the problem I ran into is that it breaks off really easily. I had problems literally casting baits off. Never encountered that before on any other lines.
  10. in my experience, a 4 inch wacky senko is the best way to catch these shallow fish. Like he said, make sure you don't spook them.
  11. I marked 60 on Thursday when it was 80 out. Fish on beds + spawning makes me believe it.
  12. Busted the magdraft out on Tonka today. Water has hit 60 and I'm starting to see fish on beds. Even saw two getting it on today. Been trying to get out after school as much as I can.
  13. Fish around here normally flood the bank when water gets into the 50s. A chatterbait is my go to searchbait and a jig is hard to beat if you know where they're holding. Look for back bays and pockets where the bottom is soft and can soak up the sun, water is usually warmer there. By far the best time of the year to slay fish on moving baits.
  14. You think they'd service my E7s for free if I sent them in?
  15. Fished Okoboji in Iowa Friday/Saturday. Temps were 44ish on the main lake to 50ish in the backs of cuts and marinas depending on how long the sun had been shining. Chatterbaits, neds and wacky rigs accounted for all of our largemouth. Good numbers but nothing over 3lbs. I think the bigs hadn't quite moved up yet. A friend of ours down there said the largemouth got fired up in the later part of the day so we fished smallmouth in the mornings. Jerkbaits over rock flats produced some but nothing huge. Overall an awesome trip for April bass fishing. Would recommend going down if you can swing a day or two trip.
