  1. There will always be diehards out there, but electric steer motors, their GPS capabilities, and their growing ability to communicate with sonar units is the wave of the future - and it's only going to get better.
  2. I was going through about one BPS so-called "trailerable" cover about once a year. I finally gave up and had a custom cover made. No more seams ripping apart because the "trailerable" cover was flapping wildly in the wind.
  3. That's an old one, a very old one.
  4. Having had the opportunity to use the Pinnacle Primmus, I can say with the utmost confidence that you will not be disappointed.
  5. I ain't, if the lake is within 5' of full pool, but I keep my eyes wide open.
  6. That guy on the guitar is awesome!
  7. I freak out when I'm in shallow water and forget I have the motor trimmed up and then try to start it when I reach deeper water. I just know that I am frying the impeller. Same thing when I am launching the boat and forget to trim it down. Old men forget things, and the things we forget can hit us dead square in the wallet.
  8. Alas, you have to live within a short driving distance of Tulsa for Oklahoma Canvas to do you any good. They want your boat on their premises. Luckily, I live in Tulsa and also have one of their custom covers. Love it!
  9. Very well said, sir.
  10. With great reluctance I must inform everyone that Road Warrior is going to have to miss his first Road Trip. He has taken on a new job that begins March 1st. Kent feels that his new employer would not be very understanding if he took a week of vacation 18 days after he was hired. Go figure. Regardless, I'm going to step into his shoes and host the annual hamburger cook-out. The date and venue to be announced later.
  11. As Bass_Fanatic said, everyone over the age of 18 is invited, with or without a boat, and with or without bass fishing experience. Yes, the lake we fish changes from year-to-year. Since the *** of the Road Trips, we have fished Lake Fork twice, Kentucky Lake twice, Pickwick Lake twice, Wilson Lake, and Guntersville Lake twice. This is our first trip to Toledo Bend.
  12. C'mon Burt! We need you! Don't start crawfishing at this late date.
  13. Welcome! There are a lot of nice folks around here.
  14. I agree. You will want at least a 10 amp charger. If you have other equipment attached to the battery, make sure they are turn off.
  15. Highjacking the thread, congratulations Chris on your one thousandth post!
  16. Yes, you can attach your charger to the "car" battery without removing other wiring. You can also attach all other electrical equipment to the "car" battery. Your trickle charger will work to recharge the "car" battery, but it will probably take several hours, or even overnight to do so.
  17. Welcome from a fellow Louisianian! Have you fish Caney Lake lately?
  18. As said above, Pflueger makes great reels, and the Patriarch is a sweetheart. I own several. That said, I suggest you take a look at Pinnacle's new line-up of reels. In that price range the Pinnacle baitcasters really shine. Having used them for the last year or so, I highly recommend them. I like them so much that I will be retiring my Pflueger baitcasters over the upcoming months.
  19. Looking forward to meeting you Felix! BTW, I'll be happy to translate for you. I speak Cajun, Texian, and several other Old South tongues, plus I am conversant with New Yooorkese.
  20. A couple of extension cords, a prop wrench, and a petite, inflatable college girl who adores me.
  21. There is an encyclopedia of information posted in our Fishing Articles section. I suggest you start there. BTW welcome to Bass Resource. How about going to our Introductions forum and tell us a little about yourself?
  22. Welcome Felix! Looking forward to meeting you!
  23. I would donate it all to Apple. I've heard they are having trouble financially, and I really like their iPhones.
  24. What a beautiful ride Chris! Can't wait for an invite to ride along with you - at no more than 50 mph.
