  1. Who said I was going to keep my clothes on? Wait until you see me bump it with a trumpet! (Plagiarized from the movie Gypsy)
  2. These road trips are about as much fun as you can have with your clothes on.
  3. How much does it cost to fill up my boat? That is a question that is so vague that it has so many variables as to make any responses meaningless.
  4. Several years ago I loaned my boat to a couple of out-of-state college kids who were fishing a tournament here in Oklahoma. The boat has a thirty-three gallon tank, and it had a full tank when I loaned it to them. The only rules I laid down were that they pay for any damages and to return the boat with a full tank. One of the boys was chaperoned by his father so I had few worries. The boat was returned on time, with no damage. Naturally, I assumed that I also had a full tank of gas also. The next week-end I took the boat out. After I got on plane I checked the gas gauge. The needle was pointing at empty. Lesson learned.
  5. Wow, it's looking like we are going to have a great turn-out at KY! Maybe we can convince Ghoti to host his Wine and Cheese Soiree' again.
  6. Brandon, great to have you back! I'm very much looking forward to seeing you and your boy again.
  7. We always have a group gathering on Saturday evening. It's usually held at an off-site restaurant. I'll make reservations after I get a firm head-count.
  8. I'm of Rhino's genre and grew up listening to much of the music he did, but Merle Haggard and other country greats were part of my menu as well. Then came the sixties. There were too many great bands to mention, but among them were ELO, CCR, the Eagles, the Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Three Dog Night, The Grateful Dead, and on and on. To this day, my favorite group is the Eagles.
  9. The Plueger President reel is the best bang for the buck on the market.
  10. The following are the dates for the Road Trips: Toledo Bend - The Jack Yates Classic - Arrive Wednesday March 23rd, depart Monday March 28. We will be staying at the Fin & Feather Resort. Five rooms have been blocked in the motel. There are cabins available, but the available beds are limited. http://www.toledo-bend.net/feather/ Kentucky Lake - Arrive Wednesday April 27th, depart Monday May 2nd. We will be staying at Moors Resort and Marina. Two cabins and five rooms at the Lodge have been blocked. The cabins will sleep four heterosexual men each. There are other cabins also available. http://www.moorsresort.com/?gclid=CNeqwZqRsccCFUkdgQodN_IArA Each person must make their own reservation. When making the reservation you MUST mention that you are with the Bass Resource group. You may stay a longer or shorter period of time than the dates shown above. If you need a roommate post it on this forum. I'm very much looking forward to seeing old friends again, and most importantly, making new ones! As mentioned in previous posts, you do not need a boat to attend. No one will be left standing on the bank.
  11. I hope to firm up the dates of each of the trips no later than tomorrow.
  12. From one Old Fart to another, welcome aboard! There are a lot of nice folks around here.
  13. If that motor is anything like me, it needs a good, strong cup of coffee in the morning.
  14. Welcome Thomas! If you haven't checked out the articles on this site, there is an encyclopedia of information at your disposal. In addition, there are tons of videos.
  15. P.T. Barnum once said "There's a sucker born every day." Fishermen are suckers for anything they think will help them catch more fish.
  16. Welcome!
  17. While I very much respect the opinions of Way2slow, I must disagree with him on this issue. I made the mistake of leaving my Mustang auto-inflate PFD in my boat for a couple of months. Not only did the PFD mildew badly, it also self inflated. It no longer is left in my boat any longer than overnight.
  18. nosdog2, thank you for your very detailed explanation. Very well done!
  19. I know how you guys feel. It was 98 today, with a heat index of 114.
  20. Having read all of the above posts, I will be trying to set up some firm dates for each of the trips within the next few days.
  21. Welcome from a fellow Okie!
