  1. I like the Patriarchs so much I have four of them.
  2. I figured you would be pleased. It was a hellofa game, and Mizzou deserved it. So much for Johnny Football.
  3. Welcome from a fellow Tulsan!
  4. As much as I hate to agree with RW, I think he's right. Arkansas should be competing in the Big 12. The Big 12 is composed of a number of teams who are almost, but not quite, good enough to compete in the SEC. Occasionally, a Big 12 team can hold its own in the SEC, but not often.
  5. Dammit! I missed the game.
  6. It's very simple. If a company manufactures and sells three times as many boats as any other, it stands to reason that there would be three times more of them on the "used" market than any other. BTW, Wal-Mart doesn't sell cars. It would be great if they did. I would love to buy a Ford, or Chevy, or Dodge Ram from them at their discounted, fixed prices. For that matter, I would love to buy, a Tracker, or a Nitro, or a Skeeter, or a Ranger from them. You are inferring that Wal-Mart sells low quality goods. You are wrong. Does Wal-Mart sell a lower quality ipad than any other store, or a lower quality flat-screen Sony TV? As for your statement that a Tracker or a Nitro depreciates faster than any other boat, I would very much appreciate it if you could provide some factual information to support your claim. Everyone likes to bad-mouth Nitro and Tracker, but no one ever talks about the fact that there are more Nitro and Tracker boats SOLD than all other companies. There's got to be a reason for that.
  7. I received my first Road Trip Registration Form today. Congratulations Bighead!
  8. Personally, I wouldn't even think about going. There is nothing I need so badly that justifies my showing up any store hours and hours before they open. So you get a great deal, but have to fight a mob in the process. Woopy.
  9. Well done!
  10. There were only three of us enjoying the meal, so the wife bought the smallest turkey I had ever seen - 8.8 lbs. It took less than two hours to cook.
  11. I do. Depending on the peppers you use, if any, you can make them spicy or blow-your-head-off hot. PM me if you want the recipe.
  12. Happy Turkey Day! Last night I put the bird into a brine concoction and let it soak over night. This was a first for me. When I read what Redline Robert said about a brine-soaked turkey in an earlier thread, I just had to give it a try. This morning I put the bird on the Weber over indirect heat and smoked it with Mesquite. My wife and daughter said it was delicious. I had to agree. I couldn't believe how moist it was. Thanks, Robert!
  13. Wow! No bananas it the boat? I've heard of superstitions, but that one really takes the cake! I have a superstition. I will not allow anyone with a bazooka in my boat.
  14. Yesterday my bride and I celebrated our forty-fourth wedding anniversary. After all these years she's still my best friend and confidant. We've watched our kids grow up and bless us with their children; and then have their children bless us again with a great-grandchild. It seems like only yesterday when I asked her to be my wife, and to my great fortune, she accepted. Our life together has not always been a bed of roses, but she has stood by me through thick and thin, and Gawd how I love her for doing so.
  15. Thanks for the recommendation. While I still think Buck Perry's book is the "Bible," I'm gonna check into that.
  16. Check out the Bass Pro Shops Carbonlites. It's a sweetheart rod that is VERY reasonably priced. I found that out by accident and was amazed by it's sensitivity. I would suggest a 6 1/2' to 7' M/F to begin with.
  17. Welcome. Lot's of nice folks here.
  18. Well, Jay and A-Jay, I just tried out the search function using "micro guides" in the search and came up with pages of info. Jay, I noticed in your last post that your spelling and punctuation sucks, so you may want to concentrate a little more on the words you enter into the "search" box. Just a suggestion.
  19. My most thankful moment happened yesterday. My bride and I celebrated our forty-fourth wedding anniversary. It's great to spend that amount of time with your best friend. My second most thankful moment occurred early this year when I took my kid fishing for the first time. On her second cast she caught about a two-pound bass. She's forty years old.
  20. I don't fish tournaments, so I'm not interested in putting five in the live well as fast as possible. I'm content with the notion that the bigger bass prefer bigger baits. I never downsize.
  21. I can't speak for the other brands, but I've had Rage Tail products in my tackle bag for several years with no deterioration whatsoever.
  22. I suggest you read the responses to all of the other resumes submitted by you young gentlemen. First and foremost, get your education. Secondly, concentrate on getting your education. Third, get your education!
  23. What was said above. Apply liberally and often. I even use it on my braid.
  24. Welcome, from another transplanted cajun.
  25. I have a pair of old 4" car speakers that I wired into the stereo plug. I just duct tape them to my head and then pull over a wool cap. Works great, but it's a little painful to take them off.
