  1. Greg, first question. Using Google Earth, I spotted an eatery about a mile or so from the resort. It sorta looks like a truck stop, and could serve us well for our breakfasts. What's your opinion?
  2. Wow! Thanks Greg!
  3. My wife is a CPA. This time of year she changes her name to Cha-Ching.
  4. Most states follow USCG regulations, and those regulations state that, at the minimum, your vessel must be capable of displaying a white light (e.g. a flashlight) to near-by vessels. If you are at anchor, you must display a 360 deg. white light. Most of the larger sporting goods stores carry the items you need, from the very simple domed flashlight, to the light mounted on a pole. As A-Jay said, check your State regulations. Regardless, of the rules, I suggest you do everything you can to ensure the visibility of your boat, especially if you are fishing a body of water that allows powered water craft.
  5. In the spirit of fun, the only rock thrown at Raider would be composed entirely of intercoursite.
  6. Welcome!
  7. I did nothing wrong, I simply differentiated between slips and slips. I may have slipped a little on that one, but I felt I was on a slippery surface when I made the post. I'm going to assess myself two warning points.
  8. I thought a degree in geology was a BS, not a BA. If it's a BS there are many opportunities available with the major oil companies and even more with the myriad of service companies that support them. If you decide to go with one of them, plan on moving to the Gulf Coast; probably Houston.
  9. And then there are slips that could get wet. http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/350983362757?lpid=82
  10. Nice set-up Lee.
  11. Hey guys, cut me some slack! There are really ignorant people out there who call a boat ramp a slip, and I am just trying to unignorantize them. Most of those people live in Arkansas, Florida, and Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
  12. Dang, Hootie, you beat me to it.
  13. Plagiarized Geography of a Slip A slip is not as open as a dock. A slip is outlined by a pier on each side of the boat, unlike the dock, which has a pier on one side only. A slip can also serve multiple vessels within a single area, the shore-sides of which are lined with piers. The essential characteristic of a slip is that it's open on one end only, bounded by land or piers, which shelter the vessels in the slip on three sides to break up swells entering the harbor or marina.
  14. The boat docks behind the cabins do not have hook-ups. You will have to run a power cord from the cabin if you want to dock the boat overnight. the parking areas do not have hook-ups either. Same deal with the power cord. There are covered slips near the boat launch area that DO have hook-ups.
  15. Make up your mind. Are you a seller or a giver? With my habit, I REALLY need a giver.
  16. If ya wanna go somewhere, have a ton of fun and learn a lot, the Annual Bass Resource Road Trip is the ticket!
  17. None. I have a cocaine habit to support.
  18. I've switched to "Caddy Shack - The Inside Story."
  19. To the best of my knowledge, no boater, while on the Road Trip, has ever accepted any payment to help out with the cost of the gas. Personally, I feel that if I'm on vacation, and am going to be running around the lake in my boat, I would be doing it with or without a co-angler. As a co-angler, you should make the offer to chip in for the gas, but I doubt that the offer will be accepted. Don't forget, we are on vacation, we are not competing in a tournament. And what a vacation it is! Guys and gals from all over the States, just wanting to get together and have a good time!
  20. My boat is stored outdoors, so all my gear, including the PFDs, comes out of the boat after each trip, and is stored at room temperature. The exception is my batteries. They stay plugged in to my DualPro charger, 24/7.
  21. I've been asked to leave several bars down in South Louisiana because I wasn't carrying a gun or a knife. A few of my buddies and I were thrown out of a place down in the French Quarter of New Orleans because we stumbled into place populated by bull dy... er, girls who wanted to be men.

  23. Not to hi-jack the thread, but has anyone paid any attention to the quality of the articles posted on this site? Glenn is a stickler for proper grammar, spelling and punctuation. Attaboy, Glenn!
  24. Just a reminder folks that the block that we have on the cabins for our 9th Annual Bass Resource Road Trip expires at the end of February. If you are thinking about joining us for another great Road Trip, the deadline is fast approaching. The following is a list of confirmed attendees. If your name isn't on it then you are very much invited to join us. Regardless of whether or not you are a newbie to our forums or are a newbie to bass fishing, you are invited, although minors must be accompanied by an adult. It matters not whether you have a boat, but if you have one capable of handling a large lake, then please bring it with you, if possible.
