If you are fishing from the bank, at the end of the day, put a swivel on the end of your line, and then tie it off to a post, or fence, or something sturdy. Then, open your bail and walk off enough line for the length of at least a long cast or two. Then, using a soft cloth (I usually soak the cloth with KVD Line and Lure Conditioner, but it's not required) pinch the the cloth between the thumb and forefinger on your line, point the rod tip at the point where you tied the line off and then begin reeling it back in, walking toward it as you go. Maintain tension on the line. When you get back to your tie-off point, your line twist will have been removed.
